Raising magic in f2p

Featured Replies

My magic level is 42. i am hoping to get to level 59. i am looking for a way that would not bring my hp level up so splashing and non combat spells would work...

wat is the best solution?

consider that i have 350k in bank but i dont want to waste too much money...

Umm, cast curse on rats under lumby till 55, alch green d'hide bodies to 59.

Three months banishment to 9gag is something i would never wish upon anybody, not even my worst enemy.

i understand that all i really need is to get magic to 55 but how exactly do i curse. i know this is nooby but wat do i do. aside from casting the spell part and why is it worthwhile? which rats? im a noob

put on as much equipment with the worst magic defence you can possibly get.

and the varrock sewers are the best place to do it.

how much will it cost me?

im not sure, but if you browse around the most recent two or three pages on here, someone linked to a guide on how much it would cost to do it and a very thorough guide.

is this really a smart method? earths and waters r pretty expensive

it works best if your a member when you can use a mud battlestaff.

although you could make your own earths/waters/bodies or all if you want. im not sure what the best f2p method is.

yea im f2p so this really doesnt help. does superheating stuff work out?

It might work. If you mine the ores then yes, but if you buy then you might break even, or lose money. I need to check it out myself anyway, so I can tell you if it will work or not.

My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

breaking even sounds good. how much do i buy materials and how much do i sell bars for?

I am working it out now.

I am going to use Steel Bars here, and do the calculation in 1k so you can get a better idea of the proft:

o 2k Coal Ore: 360K

o 1k Iron Ore: 99K

o 1k Nature Runes: 242K

So that equals:

360+99+242=701k

And Steel Bars cost 621K:

621-701=-80

Therefore, you are going to lose profit if buy all the ores for Steel Bars. I think that Mithril Bars might work, however.

My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

i had a feeling they would work better bur i need 9 more levels to do them. would they be alright with steel though. after all i just need to break even.

in the other thread that was here earlier there was a huge argument about this,

steels are a negative 80 gp loss.

mith bars are (doing this from memory) 40 or 30 gp loss

and addy bars (with all items bought at medium price) are a 1 gp loss.

this is an effective way to train magic if you can smelt addy bars, and buy/gather some of your coal at the lowest price or get it yourself.

As you can see in my previous post, no, if you buy the ores however.

Okay, first buy body runes ad runes needed to cast Curse spell. Buy a full Iron ad wear it.

Then go Wizard's tower upstairs at the locked up demon or whatever. Keeping casting curse on him and it will splash.

Pros:

very very cheap

Cons:

must click a lot

not very fast experience

If you want to high alch, then do it... Dunno exactly what you should high alch in f2p.

Pros:

fast exp

less clicking

cons:

cost much more money than curse

DO NOT SUPERHEAT UNLESS YOU NEED SMITHING EXP. IT'S A WASTE OF MONEY IF YOU ARE JUST TRAINING MAGIC.

Hope that helped a bit.

geez you need to stop making the same thread over and over again about the same subject

you've got to just stick to something

superheat mith

curse

fail earth strikes

foukouei.png

I mine my own iron, which relatively easy to get. Then, I buy the coal (even though I can go into the mining guild, since it's faster this way). Then, I superheat steel bars, and sell them for profit.

2K Coal = 360K

1K Natures = 242K (assuming I buy all of them; I've been killing monsters for them, it's cheaper and gets my other combat skils up)

Total Cost = 602K

Sell 1K Steel Bars = ~620K

Net = 15-20K

So, doing it this way, you take a little more time, but you actually profit a little from it. Then, when you get to level 55, use the money you earned and use it to buy more Natures and Green D-Hide Bodies. High Alch them, and use that money to get more stuff.

Please. In the other thread, we talked about the EXACT same thing. So, making this thread is pretty pointless, since you're getting the exact same answer that was given in the other thread (for the most part).

Anyways, I hope this helps!

You know that you can get about double the experience of curse, with mithril bars per hour, with 30k smithing as well for about the same cost ratio?

both are just over 1 gp / exp lol and both involve almost the same amount of clicking. I think cursing is aweful in comparison, and slooooww.

Aside from splash cursing, there's an interesting 'auto-splash' method that I haven't actually tested  , but basically you buy runes for the strike spells and attack the respective wizrad south of fally. If you use the same element spell as they are, then they tak no damage but you get the cast xp.

You could do with higher leveld spells, but it's a bit of a waste of money that way. wear dhides or mage def gear, dont wear metal armour. Bring food for the damage you take and a staff to autocast the strike with as well as supply runes.

This is more expensive than splashing curses, but quicker as easier because few clicks are involved.

Hmmm....

I need a new siggy, get round to doing it later.

Probably.

this works and ive been doing this... maybe i should just get 50smithing and superheat stuff.

Curse the zammy monk in varrock castle, it splashes loads but he heals from the curse VERY quickly. And it is cheap.

i used to do it the long way and make all my runes and use fire strikes on the hobgoblins across from the crafting guild southwest of falador..

you dont get hit but you cant get the loot...

You gonna get got
