August 12, 200817 yr Well, with the NFL season just around the corner, I was wondering if there was any interest in starting a TIF Fantasy Football league. I've never actually played fantasy football but it seems fun, and my older brother has played for the past 7(?) years. This year I joined the league my brother is in, on CBS, it's mostly his friends and his friends friends. Another issue to address is what site we would play on, if this does go through. I know CBS, NFL.com, and Yahoo! all have free fantasy football. Does anyone with experience have a preference? With CBS, you can only be in one league at a time, which means myself, and others already in a CBS league would have to create new accounts/new emails, etc. in order to join. I'm pretty sure NFL.com, on the other hand, supports players being in multiple leagues (correct me if I'm wrong). Post if you're interested, and leave feedback if you wish. The max players is 12 per league, so hopefully there's enough interest to fill at least one league. Combat FTL
August 12, 200817 yr Author Hmm, maybe I should have explained that in my first post. I'll try to explain it here, although I may not be the best at explaining things clearly. First off, there's a draft (I'm going to explain as if it were a live draft, which I hope we go for). In the draft, you take turns picking out your players. (ie. Once somebody picks Tom Brady, nobody else can). You only pick offensive players, for defensive, you pick an entire teams defence (ie. San Diego Chargers defence). You get a few players for each position and you want to have a pretty good line-up of players. Each week, you're matched up against another player in your league. You get to pick all the players you want active for this week, you can only have one active QB, and stuff like that. So if one of your QB's are injured, then you will of course bench him and make your other QB active. To get points in your match-up against another player in your league, it's based on your active players performances in their games. You get a certain amount of points depending on how many yards your RB rushed for and how many TD's he got, you get points for how well your receivers do, and how well your QB does, etc etc etc. You can also lose points if you RB fumbled the ball, or if your QB throws an interception, etc. Once all the games your active players are in are over, your total is added up and compared against your opponents score. Player with the best score wins. This is repeated each week. Eventually your league will go into playoffs and eventually one player will be crowned Champion. Hopefully that makes sense, if any corrections are needed, let me know :P Combat FTL

August 12, 200817 yr So would we make an account on a website or be independent and keep track on this/another thread?
August 12, 200817 yr Author Okay, I don't think getting enough people will be too much of a problem, so I might go ahead and create the league tonight, and I'm thinking of making it on Yahoo!. A few rules to address: Draft - I think we should definitely go for a live draft, and I think it would be best to do it later at night EST to avoid work and other commitment conflicts with people. If anyone has any comments on what time/day to do it, let me know. Otherwise I'll probably schedule it for sometime before the end of the month at 10-12pm EST. Scoring/Rules - Are the default rules and settings okay with everyone? There's also the option of making it Head to Head league or a Points league, right now I plan on making it Head to Head.
