Bounty Hunter - Huge Mistake On Behalf of Jagex?

Featured Replies

Hi,

this is NOT just another rant, this is to be debated, not just dismissed as me wanting PKing back.

So Jagex removed PKing due to RWTing, something that was a massive problem. They removed the old PKing, and replaced it with Bounty Hunter. RWTing dropped for about 3 weeks, during which RWTers found hundreds of other ways to bypass the trade limit and Bounty Hunter rules. Now RWTing is back to the level it was at when PKing was around.

So what are your thoughts? Was Bounty Hunter just a waste of Jagex's time, perhaps there were other solutions?

EDIT:

One gold seller alone (no names mentioned) has sold another 2 billion GP since the release of Bounty Hunter.

I don't think that bounty huner was a huge mistake. They knew that removing the original format of the wilderness was going to anger tons of their paying customer, so they tried to reach a compromise. That being said...I really wish that it was different. Piling is still very real in there, but then again the only timed that I died in the old wildy was when I was piled so I guess it is close to the same.

What makes you think it's at the same level as it was before? it's not even close..

There are lots of people, who thinks that bh is a cheap solution, it shows how jagex doesn't care about players, etc. While actually they did their best to keep that old kill-and-loot PvP, knowing that they left a hole for RWT. And if the problem would really come back, then bye bye bh. They'd simly remove it and w00t, problem solved

Pking had to be stopped because it was a way that was popular with gold sellers to exchange money. Jagex had to do this; so to make a small minority a bit more cheerful; they invented bounty hunter. Would like to remind you that there is also the fight pits that people use and Jagex are steadily working for more PvP mini-games.

Just thought: theres also fog.

i think that just the fact that they have made such drastic changes has led some people who may before have bought gold to reconsider.

and rwt is certainly harder than it was..

This I disagree with. RWT is nowhere near as big of a problem as it used to be. Bots were flooding the game, people could just trade 50m cash in a matter of seconds, drop trading was possible, etc. BH makes the RWTer's job way more complicated.

Back then, bots were everywhere. The problem was prevalent - we saw what we were dealing everyday. Now, it's more of an underground thing - you only ever see it rarely at BH. It's still a problem, yes. But compared to how things used to be, you can consider the RWT updates very effective.

Yes it was.

Come to my Clan chat (I'm there if I'm online) if you wish to borrow a Green H'ween mask, Blue H'ween Mask, Red H'ween Mask, or Santa for a reasonable price.

with any loot system of pking there will always be rwt. just the amount has dropped so much. jagex hopes that some player will interfere with planned rwt.
