Our_Moon
Just a quick question or two about Summoning: Assume i summon a familiar, for example, a Karmathulu Overlord. It's supposed to be a great "combat familiar," or so i've heard. Does it attack on its own accord, or do i have to provoke it to make it attack at all (by using scrolls, or something? Or are scrolls just for SPECIAL, not regular, attacks?) Thanks. Oh, which are the best "combat familiars?" I've got to do *something* while training Slayer ;). Vulxai
It'll attack on it's own. The scrolls are just a special attack they can do. ~ Proud Father ~ Proud (Currently Deployed) Army National Guardsmen ~ Proud Lakota ~ Retired Tip.It Crew ~
Inuashakent
It'll only attack when you are being attacked. The familiar is never attack, only during pvp, where it'll attack a couple times and stop. The karamthuhlu overlord is the best until... well, 73/79 I would believe. Or 68 for a bunyip, thats far better. [Summoning guide (AOW)] [Slayer guide] [Melee & Brawl player]

I'll attack the green drag, it'll start fighting me, my bird will start attacking it, and often the green drag turns and attacks my bird. ~ Proud Father ~ Proud (Currently Deployed) Army National Guardsmen ~ Proud Lakota ~ Retired Tip.It Crew ~

I guess, but by the time the monster changes a target you should be done killing it. Unless your attacking more than one at once... We're talking about slayer, remember? ilovecardj
Ive been experimenting with random familars in the chaos tunnels on black demon tasks. very often they start hitting the familars, it saves me on prayer lol, but i pray flash anyways. Usually finish a task on a few doses of a ppot. I got the most damage out of mithril minotaur then the overlord, but the overlord gives range exp, and gets stuck less which is nice. Also remember they only attack in multi-combat zones, so you will almost always wanting to use a bunyip Dragon Drops: 80+ boots, 7 med, 3 skirt, 2 left half, 2 Spear, 2 2hSlayer: 30+ whips, 4 Bows, 1 Mask, 3 Granite Legs, 1 Visage (Wyverns)Notable GWD Splits: Bandos Tassets: 12, Bandos Chest: 11, Bandos Hilt: 2Proud Slayer of 99 Att/Str/Def/HP/Range/Summoning

Mithril minotaurs are extremely weaker than Karamthuhlu damage wise. ilovecardj
interesting i must of had an off task when i tried the overlord. It hit at most once per kill on each demon. The mithril minotaurs often hit 2-4 times+ up to 12 damage as well. I think highest i saw overlord do was 10 But id agree to use that list it as it seems well tested, i haven't really tested thoroughly just some observations. I never used scrolls at all Dragon Drops: 80+ boots, 7 med, 3 skirt, 2 left half, 2 Spear, 2 2hSlayer: 30+ whips, 4 Bows, 1 Mask, 3 Granite Legs, 1 Visage (Wyverns)Notable GWD Splits: Bandos Tassets: 12, Bandos Chest: 11, Bandos Hilt: 2Proud Slayer of 99 Att/Str/Def/HP/Range/Summoning
