Something small... but somewhat needed

Recommended Posts

When you create a signature, you can't add smilies without remembering the codes. I think that there should be at least a link to the list of smilies so that you can add some to your signature easier.

If there already is one, forgive me.

The implementation of this suggestion -> Overuse of smileys in signatures. It will happen. The people that actually use the right amount of smileys in their sigs know the codes already, to put it bluntly.

No thank you.

Weren't the smiley's at the signature editing screen in phpbb2 and we didn't have a problem?

Overuse of smileys? Unless they fill the entire Tip.It signature to the max, then why is it problem? What's so bad about having X amount of smileys in the signature? And isn't there a max on smileys, or just like the last online lists, or the post/PM's per minute, is it all one list, that posts & signatures have the same limit?

in Phpbb2, there was no smilie editing screen for the signitures. I dont think there was even a preview screen :o .

Most people already know the general smily list anyway tbh.

No, remember the "Edit profile" page was all on one page in PHPBB2. It wasn't there.

Am I the only one who finds excessive smileys/emoticon animation in signatures annoying? I somehow don't think so.

I'm going to test the smiley limit in hide tags because I can't be bothered to wait for an administrator to show up.

It's more than ten, it seems.

In my blog, I managed 20. In regular posts as in replies, i've used 12. It might vary from forum to forum though

5 smileys max in a signature would be fine...Then again people could just off-link to other smileys as a work around.

Yeah, but implementing this wouldn't be much of a difference as they still can do that anyway.

Only 5? Make it 8, and no more, and you've got something. ::'

(Yeah, I know, I'm not using any right now... But, I've been thinking of using some! :anxious: ...)

They should probably just put a max of smilies in signatures then. Like, I mean it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Each smiley is only like 200 bytes, which is less than 1 kb.

It's not the size that matters, it's the fact that they are (In particular the animated ones) distracting.

I suppose, but as I stated above, people still have the ability to do that anyway.
