zwyrm
I've gotten to the part where i have to kill the Giant Scarab (level 191). I tried killing it once (melee), using guthan's full and prayer, but i only managed to deal only like...18 damage to it -.- Should i try again? Maybe use str pot's or something.. Maybe try different armour? Help!? I'm lvl 99, str 88, def 70, att 70 (prayer 58)
Sindarin00
I have roughly the same stats as you, but I super potted, and used a whip. I hit 0's quite a few times, but eventually killed him. I used Torags Armor [hide=Drops]Barrows: Ahrim's Robeskirt (2) Dragon: Plateskirt (3) : Left Halfs (2) : Med Helm (1) : Boots (14) : Spear (3)Treasure Trails: Sara Platebody (1) Slayer: Leaf Bladed Sword (9) : Granite Helm (3) : Granite Maul (1) : Black Mask (3) : Abyssal Whip (2)Other: Obby Cape (1) : Obby Maul (2)Splits: Shield Left Half (1) : Dragon Med Helm (4)[/hide]
Kietaro1
I am going to let you in on a little secret involving quest bosses, RING OF RECOIL. The Giant Scarab has 130 hit points and each Ring of recoil returns 10% of damage dealt, (not sure if this is just for melee of if it crosses the other parts of the triangle as well) and is used up after 40 damage has been returned. With 130 hp that is a meazly 4 rings with a few to spare on the other Locusts that spawn. The idea here is to stay alive long enough for the beast to kill itself. Works very nicely for most quest monsters in my opinion.
LimeSeller
For fighting the giant scarab, it will take awhile to kill it, no matter what you use. The only thing keeping you from spending time killing it is the little Scabarites and the scarab's poison (That is, if you are melee praying). So, what I did to kill it is to lure the scarab into the entrance into the giant cavern and the long tunnel, so that when it spawns the Scabarites, they will be stuck behind the scarab and the wall, so not even the mages and rangers can reach you. As for the poison, just bring quite a bit of antipoison and food. Hope this post helps you, good luck.

Kazel
I went in with whip, monks, super set and defeated it fine. It just take a while, the scarab has a really high defense. Just keep attacking, you'll down it eventually. SLAYERGEEK
