Google releases Google Chrome

If you're using anything other than Opera, then your browser sucks. Fact.

Fail, you mean Firefox.

Oh that's right. I forgot how much I enjoyed having to download everything to customize my browser, instead of it all already being there.

you're like that special kid that needs to hold someone's hand to do anything

That is the worst analogy ever.

Just because everything already comes with the browser doesn't mean it's holding my hand. I still have to play around with it to get it to do what I want. For Firefox, you have to download everything and anything if you want to customize your browser.

For instance, my browser looks like this. I could remove the tabs if I wanted to as well, but I like having them up top for some reason. To access my address bar, I just hit F2. To refresh, F5.

Also, Firefox doesn't have mouse gestures. Mouse gestures allow me to control many various aspects of the toolbars just by making motions with the mouse. Going back? Hold the right mouse button and drag the mouse to the left, or hit the left mouse button while holding down the right one. Right button+drag right/left mouse button+right click makes you go forward. If I want a new tab, I right click and drag the mouse down. To scroll between tabs, hold the right mouse button and roll the scroll wheel.

IRC client? Built-in. E-mail? Built in. Pop-up blocker? Built-in. I can make my browser look any way I want it to. If the font on a website isn't specified, I can set it to whatever damn font I want. I can change the colors of any part of the browser to suit my needs. There is even an auto-refresher built right into the browser, easily accessible just by right-clicking. I can browse using voice commands if I felt so inclined. I can put my toolbars on any side of the browser if I feel like it. I don't have to download any add-ons whatsoever to be able to use Opera to its full extent. All of the add-ons that Fx requires you to download are already in the package. Downloads in Opera run as fast as the DownThemAll! Addon on Fx. Half the time Fx forgets what tabs you had open when you close them, and takes you to a single blank tab the next time you open it up. Opera, on the other hand, always remembers exactly what you had open last and always brings it up if you exit out of the browser.

Opera is the most customizable browser out there, and it is also fast, neat, and easy to customize.

Also, despite the fact that nobody gives a crap about them, Opera is the only browser out of the three (IE, Fx, and Opera) to pass the Acid3 tests, which measure how much stress a browser can take or something, I dunno.

Hmm, that screenie reminded me to update my Java. >__>

On this PC, you can easily notice that Firefox runs double the speed of IE. Well I got chrome, and that works about 3x-4x faster than Firefox, and with spell check (thats automatic), Chrome rocks my socks.

Chrome is sleeker and faster than FF, apart from when in RS, where it's a quarter of the speed of FF. So at the moment, I use both, and will probably undergo Chromification soon. (And yes, that is a new word, use it as you please.) ::'

I shouldn't be complaining though, it is still in Beta testing, so I don't blame them if Chrome isn't entirely happy with RS yet.

Based on the three new browser ( Chrome, FF3, IE8) Chrome kicks [wagon].

With Firefox, there are way too many add-ons available. The set-up is messy as well. I hate a lot of clutter.

IE8 is still in beta stage and every 3 minutes I get a debug message.

Chrome is just the basic thing I was looking for. It has a nice appearance. You can drag tabs and open in other windows or drag to a different window as well. Maybe they will release a control for vb.net for developers like IE. It still has a few kinks to be wokred out, but it is really good for a beta.

I use gmail anyway, so it doesnt matter.

Themes, changing the font would be pointless (though FF can also do that), ReloadEvery.

I could cut my own arm off if I wanted to, but I dont think I would to.

If you cant get any add-ons, youre not getting the full anything. Thats a boundary. Atleast firefox can be made to do things you might not otherwise think about.

I dont use dTA for singular downloads anyway, I use it for multiple links so I neednt have to right-click, save, choose folder each time. I dont even think it boosts speed that much, if I want a huge download ill torrent it.

Session Manager. Firefox hasnt forgotten my tabs in a long time. Last time it forgot was because my whole computer crashed. Using the previous extension I could set a time and date and open what tabs were open then.

Thats down to how much you customise it. And I know ive customised my FF way beyond what Opera offered a while back.

And how long did it take to set it up (inc spent finding the extensions you want, download, install, config, tweak, etc)?

And for the sake of argument... roughly 90% of the list of extensions Opera does anyways. But whatever, each to their own.

To find, install and tweak each addon probably took 1 minute (maybe 30 mins total) [Though FF2 randomly gave up the ghost for me, so I had to re-remember all the addons I previously had for FF3]. But it varies depending on addon - image zoom/rotate took no time, but menu editor took a while. However, im often slightly changing addons depending on how often I use them and ABP/NoScript always get updated whenever I come across something.

that has got to be the worst background ever.

and also, i can't ever see myself needing all that stuff with a browser. which is why i like chrome. the only problem chrome has for me is when i first open it, and click a tab on my bookmark bar, it closes itself. and photobucket lags the hell out of it.

I downloaded it becuase rs runs slow and laggy on my vista but chrome doesn't run runescape at all. I didn't notice any different features either. i'll use chrome from now on anyways other than swiftkit for rs.

It does run Runescape if you download a certain updated version of Java, which I can't find right now. However, it's crazily slow, so don't bother until Java makes a proper new version which is not only compatible with Chrome, but is fast as well.
