Ouchy
Recently, I discovered that I had a bit of image editing skills, and the like. I got bored and I thought I would try something out. These were all made with Paint.Net [hide=] [/hide] Rate it, hate it, give me advice, etc. My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages. Sam
Blending is the main thing you need to work on. I would reccommend downloading some plugins for this - you can find plugins on the Paint.Net forums. GL  2257AD.TUMBLR.COM
Jopie211
They're way too simple. It's just a few motion blurred copies of the render/some fractals for the background. I'm getting tired of saying the same thing over and over again, but you'll probably want to get a better graphics program, you need to work on blending, text, make you work look more interesting, read tuts, keep practising, good luck. pixel avvy by me deviantART
Shiny
Blend. Things are very pixely as well. Try to stray away from fractals, there very hard to use. And download some plugins and brushes. To blend, try smudging or C4ds.
Sam
There is no smudge option on paint.Net unless you download the plugin. I would wait until PDN 4.0 2257AD.TUMBLR.COM
VjuliusT
1a. Download PhotoShop CS3 1b. Download Gimp 2. play around using different tools, while learning them. 3. Use tutorials from sites such as deviantart. I'm sorry to say if you want to increase your "image editing" skills you really can't stay on paint.net as it limits you by a lot. As for the pictures they look too simple, a motion blur? I can't say it looks too good, it's just simple and doesn't take any time at all. And about the last picture, that's ripping. dsavi
As others have said, lack of blending, too simple, etc. But If you want really high quality fractals to use, use Apophysis, the best program of its kind (Which is also free.) It can take over 15 minutes to render them, but the results are far better than that of any other fractal rendering program I've seen. Also, get GIMP. PDN is completely useless compared to it, even if PDN's interface is more friendly. Edit: 2222 posts. :P
Ouchy
And about the last picture, that's ripping. I agree with all of you, and I definitely need to brush up on my skills, but Vjilius, how is it ripping? EDIT: I understand and see where you are coming from. I feel this thread has served it's purpose, and I am going to get to work on using GIMP. A moderator can lock this.
