As was posted earlier, yes, I think the internet has spoiled us. I also agree that people in the 00's use the internet more effectively and frequently than in the 20 years that it has existed. But then again, in the 90's I could barely learn how to use the Fisher Price Petshop floppy disk <3:

This freaking sucks. For reasons none of us can figure out, this computer still has internet, but my computer, directly connected by a cable, only a few feet away in the next room, doesn't. It just spontaneously cut out.

Check cable connections and/or reset everything. (if your router connects to something else, that is)

And it gets worse. Since my 360 gets it's connection from my computer, I don't haxe Xbox Live either.

Oh no, you cant listen to 13 year olds whine about you being a n00b. It pains me to hear that.

This officially means I have nothing to do.

Play an offline game on your PC?

Single player = Boring. I may not be into sports, but I do need to play with other people. And for some stupid reason, Steam needs the internet to go into Offline mode /facepalm

Edit: I'm 13 btw, and I definitely don't have a stroke every time some guy ot BR's me.

I rarely encounter the ones that do.

Being a typical '90s kid, I can't remember a time without the intrawebz.

Im a child of the 90s (well, just barely) but I never even used the internet until the age of ~8/9 [id used a computer since maybe 3/4, heck, I was playing Doom at that age]. Even then that was a rare glimpse, my family didnt even bother getting a connection until I entered high school since they thought itd help my studies.

These days though I do notice a lot more of my stuff has been dependent on the internet. What can I say? It's spoiled us.

I wouldnt say im dependent - plenty of time wasting opportunites without it - but I waste time more effeciently with it.

Single player = Boring. I may not be into sports, but I do need to play with other people.

What? Some of the best games ive ever played were single player only. Really, get an old FF game [or any RPG], an RTS or even an FPS [though the AI in most can be really dopey and rarely a challenge]. A good RTS skirmish can often occupy an hour or more of my time and most RPGs just eat into any time you put to it for all the GRINDAN and skill tree buildan.

And for some stupid reason, Steam needs the internet to go into Offline mode /facepalm

Prevents piracy, apparently. Because obviously the internet wont find a way around it.

Us '90s kids are spoiled with technology. But I remember when I was like 6-11 years old all I did was play outside. So I'd say mainly the people born from '96 or so on have been spoiled with this as long as they can remember.

Born in '93 BTW.

I shall take my flock underneath my own wing, and kick them right the [bleep] out of the tree. If they were meant to fly, they won't break their necks on the concrete.
So, what is 1.111... equal to?

10/9.

Please don't continue.

the first quote i have ever found interesting enough to go in my Sig, and no one has beat me to. \'

on topic:

Go and find something else to do. on the rare ocasions i cant use my computer when i want (other people using it etc) i later think how UN important using the computer was, and how i wouldn't have achieved much more (if any) if i was using it

I feel your pain.

Have you ever had your internet down? Yup.

For how long? I think the longest period was 1 1/2 months.

What did you do in this time? Watched movies, mostly. Read a great deal. Checked the net once an hour or smth like that to see if it was back. Cried myself to sleep. Okay, I didn't literally cry, more like wailed and whined.

How did it affect you? Well, kinda like an addict that has their stash taken away, I was restless and annoyed. I didn't actually want to do anything specific on the internet, except play games and check my mail, but I felt I really needed to be online, just be there. It was pretty odd actually...It's not like I wanted to do any important stuff online, I just needed to have an internet connection.

I can see how internet can be an addiction but on the other hand everyone seems to have it, so I'm cool.

If you keep typing like that I suggest more time away from the internet. The internet may seem like everything, but that is only if you depend on it for every waking hour of your day.

You didn't read the rest of the post and realize it was a joke?
