Are you inferring that Christian Metalcore is just as popular as Alternative Rock? alternative rock is such a broad term. be more specific. but, christian metalcore is pretty damn popular. :? I know all of those bands, and I didn't even know any of them were christian. You have to admit Underøath is very unique sounding. Underoath, Demon Hunter, and Haste the Day were the only ones that didn't sound the same to me. Not a fan of metalcore.

September 11, 200817 yr UNDEROATH <3333 I nearly slept in front of the cd store to get it (im not joking the only thing that stopped me from doing it was that i did not find my sleeping bag) I have been a fan of underoath since Chris (the keyboard dude) joined the line-up. And my fan-level grow stronger when Spencer became the lead singer. Im not saying that the ex-lead singer (Dallas was lame he is really good but spencer is better...and is one of the best "screamers" in the metal industry. (btw the ex-lead singer, Dallas, is in a band called "Maylene and the sons of disaster" if you want to check him out) So i got the cd was thrilled as hell as UO is my favorite band. When I first listened to it i was amazed by the change they approached (if that is a word) the old style they had while staying different (i don't know many bands that has the same style as them) then i went to listen to define the great line to compare..and to my surprise I prefer define the great line than lost in the sound of separation. But as i went to look at the lyrics of LISOS I started prefering it and now since September 2nd I have been listening only to this cd lol BTW: i see a lot of ppl talking about they are only chasing safety, which got a lot of good songs like down, set, go andsome will seek forgiveness, other escape , but define the great line's songs got powerful lyrics and good guitar riffs. Think of the songs To whom it may concern or Writing on the walls and also you're ever so inviting. Anyway, I think it's a close call between DTGL and Lost In the Sound... I think I like a few of the DTGL songs better than the ones from the new album, but I like this new album better as a whole than DTGL. It seems like Spencer is even better at screaming than he was in DTGL if that's possible. I just love the sound of his screams. If you remember back to They're Only Chasing Safety, he started nearly all his screams with an "R". Now he hardly ever does that. Also, it's kind of funny how the only person in the band from the original album in Aaron :P Btw, can most people can't actually type "Underøath", but I can :thumbsup:

I'm not saying that they do it consciously (although I wouldn't be surprised if some do), but when you have a message that says "We believe in god, and our band is dedicated to playing music devoted to Jesus", I think that you can get more people to buy a poorly produced or not artistically talented record as long as it is "for Jesus". Now I'm not saying that Underoath is a horribly untalented band (in fact I find their drummer to be particularly talented), but I just don't enjoy the possibility of bands exploiting something that may be very personal to a certain group of people (myself not included). And I guess the fact that I can't stand listening to bands that sing about god, but that's just because I'm an Agnostic. Normally when an artist will say he is playing in the name of God...his fanbase will decrease. I'm a christian and i'm a fan of metal...but never you will see me buy gospel music or rap because they say they do this for the name of God. I don't think fans of other music genres will buy cds from an other artist thats plays a genre they don't like simply because they are devoted to play for Jesus. Personally, there are some christian metal bands i wont but a cd from them because i think they blow. Were not like your average Christian band." He further explains that Christianity is the "backbone of our lives, especially in the way that we handle certain things, but its not so much the backbone of our lyrics. Its not like every song is a lesson from the Bible or something. Its just normal life struggles."

September 15, 200817 yr My favorite song for now is the 5th one The only survivor was miraculousy unharmed The drums are awsome, spencer's voice is GREAT. Bottom line, the song kicks rear views.
