I think those gloves and implements are just for show...I mean, they don't help in cooking items better or give more experience per item cooked or anything. It seems they're just equivalent to weapons and armor. Is that right? Other than that the rolling pin and meat cleaver or w/e are more for show than anything. But if a budding cheif were to click the other option, there are several items that could really help you out. Between butter, cooking apples, chocolate, and most importantly grapes, there are many options that provide a cook of any level with useful items.
