Mr_Adam
Well, it's time for me to get a new cell phone (no more Nokia brick-phone!) but I can't seem to find something that works for me... I was using T-Mobile... but it sucks. and it doesn't provide good service in my area. I was thinking Verizon wireless. I can't afford much... and my parents refuse to pay monthly, so I have to pay full price. Assume I have ~$300. I'd also like to get Unlimited Texting, because my friends don't talk (they thumb-type)($5-10 a month isn't that bad). Any suggestions? I'll post more info as needed. Thanks. Sbrideau
Do you want the phone suggestions itself or the company and plan that would seem good? If it's the latter, we would need your location.

dsavi
By brick I suppose you were referring to one of the communicators? Nokia has some very nice, lightweight and slim phones out there by the way, their old phones are a long shot from the more recent ones. And you seriously buy phones as part of a plan? Not a good idea. Buy a phone, and then buy a service. They should be independent of eachother.
sloter
I user verizon but NO TEXT. I hate texting and i hate being in public and seeing people walking and just texting. If i really haveto talk to someone i will just call them or leavea voice mail.
Mr_Adam
My area is Near Providence, but in Massachusetts, to be specific-but-not-too-specific ;) By brick, I did mean a Nokia older phone. It was more of a handmedown when my cousin got a new phone a while ago. And you seriously buy phones as part of a plan? Not a good idea. Buy a phone, and then buy a service. They should be independent of eachother. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by this. Do you mean buy an independent phone and unlock it? (If I even know what I'm talking about) And sloter, My friends do not talk. Seriously, unless it's important. People don't ask for my number, they say "do you have texting?" Deathmath
What kind of phone do you want? Thoroughly retired, may still write now and again
Mr_Adam
What kind of phone do you want? Brand is unimportant, but be thinking of Verizon/T-Mobile, and with a budget of about $300. Preferably with a camera function, texting, (but full QWERTY keyboard isn't necessary), and music capabilities.

He means to buy a cell phone from an independent company or place. Such as buying a phone an eBay, it's much less expensive, but I wouldn't suggest it. The reason being is it includes no warranty from the provider and is not guaranteed to work with your provider. Like a phone operating with TMobile will not work with Verizon, but will work with AT&T. It all gets a bit confusing, and it's easier just to buy it straight from the company. Look here to find the best provider for you: http://www.wireless.att.com/coverageviewer/ http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/CoverageLocatorController Unlimited Texting on either one of these providers is more hefty than you think. $15-$20. Also, I didn't mention Sprint or Nextel, because they're approaching or in the same boat as TMobile; I wouldn't suggest using them however cheap. Service comes first, phone comes next. Eg, don't choose an iPhone if AT&T is not in your area. ;)
