What is so special about them? I heard they're worth more or something.

The only thing that's special about them is that they are hard to obtain and look "cool" to certain people. Thus, it costs quite a bit to get one. ;)

Jaxeg made the price on them rediculously low, that's all.

The price on the Grand Exchange is very low. People are willing to pay much much more for them. As a result, no one sells them on the GE, and everyone sells them to players on the forums, using the junk trading method to get more than the GE says they can. Since no one is selling them on the GE, the price stays the same. The price will never get up to normal unless Jagex steps in and manually fixes the price, which they aren't doing for some reason.

It's upsetting... us nonmemers don't get to take advantage of those people.

To get a Phat requires A TON of junk.. And most people are looking for street price of 3rd Age with masks.. He would need much more than one Bat Mask to even get 3rd Age Vambraces (the cheapest price/street price 3rd Age Armor..). :|

If you buy all the "junk", then you're really still getting the GE price for the mask no? The only way to profit from it is by gathering all the "junk" yourself, and not buying it.

Right, but gathering junk yourself is a lot faster than earning money with other methods. Trading sticks and granite net 1m+ junk/hour.
