Clan Wars: Great Update, Major Flaw

Clan Wars, as we all know is a good/great update in itself, and the updates that came to it were even better. But with the latter updates comes a flaw we'll all come to realize.

 

 

 

You see, this is similar to that situation with the Duel Arena where you selected no movement, no ranged, and no arrows in the rules, both accepted and then the game would be fooled and the two players would stand there in a theoretical never ending battle. Thankfully, that has been fixed.

 

 

 

Well, it's like that, Clan wars version. Most people I know, and myself, don't bother really reading the Overview before a Fight or what options were selected, they just accept. Well, earlier today I went in a clan and joined the fight (Non-Knockout, anyone could join in at anytime) and I saw before I joined the option that was selected under kills was "Most kills at the end". Now you see, this is where the flaw comes into play, with these two options enabled.

 

 

 

My team of 3 people and I (89, 97, 90,90) were fighting two level 60 players in full rune. When one of them was getting to low health, he would exit through the Escape portal and come back in the fight unrestricted, and fully healed, and attack one of us while we were in the middle of clobbering the other person. When that person was reaching low health, he exited the portal and came back in healed, making it very hard for us to finish the fight even with 4 lvl 90s against 2 60s. One of my team said "I got 17K strength exp from this lol". So you see, they kept doing this to prolong their health, and ultimately, the fight.

 

 

 

I see there are only two ways to prevent/finish this kind of scenario:

 

 

 

1) In-game, when you're in the fight, you have to kill the two/three/what have you opponents on the other side simultaneously/near simultaneously, because if you don't, the other opponent in question will have enough time to come back in unrestricted, full hp, and prolong the fight (which can potentially take HOURS to finish.)

 

 

 

2) Remove the "Knock Out" option so you don't run-in fully healed, OR Jagex can make it so when you exit and come back in you're in the position you were when you left the fight. I choose the latter idea.

 

 

 

So you see this is Clan Wars major flaw. If you don't read the overview of the fight and these two options are enabled you are in for ONE HELL of a fight. Just a warning.

 

 

 

Oh and if you're wondering, my team won, but it was really hard to get them both down at the same time >_< Our team won 77-29 (77 kills for us, 29 for them, because the other team had more people earlier but they gave up.)

Himm, sounds like they need to make it like the funning arenas, where leaving\coming back does nothing, and only dying can restore you. Does special recharge too? Because it'd be great for maxing on a friend, if it did...

I'd assume it recharges along with your other stats like HP and Prayer, but I'm only saying this as I don't know exactly as I'm f2p. :P

 

 

 

I agree on your point about making it more like the free-for-all areas, I think Jagex can make changes to that.

Yes, I'm sure its a very simple thing for them to fix. I think I'll take advantage of it next time, though... Going through a fight with unlimited prayer\hp\AGS\SGS specs sounds fun \'

Winged Fish on a RWT complaint-

There's four complaints on the whole site, one from a mother who was convinced by her son that the RWTers she was buying him items from were from Jagex (and then got scammed and is taking it out on Jagex), two people complaining about having their accounts taken away, and one ranting on the trade restrictions and wilderness removal.

 

Now just change the background color and page layout, and you have the RSoF

This seem like more of a suggestion, so I am going to request it to get moved to Bugs And Suggestions. ::'

 

 

 

On Topic: Yes, they are really annoying, but it is still in the Early Stages. JAGeX are still ironing out all the Bug Abuse Reports, and fixing it to players liking.

My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

I think they should just make it so you cannot leave a battle until you die. However, for people who HAVE to log off, they can put a 5 minute restriction so you have to wait 5 minuets before coming back in? Remember, if you die, this 5 minute wait is neglected cuz you DIED.

I really enjoy how the new updates prolong matches now. Whenever I ended up on a winning team it became a major bore for matches to end in under 30 seconds. I don't like the fact that the possibility of adding a re-entry timer may mean that the opposing team will be wiped out quicker. The timer only makes sense to me for aggressive team hoppers but not for those still engaged in one clan war. I do like the suggestion of tweaking the recharge ability to only exist when one dies though. I hadn't even realized that people running to the portals all this time because it meant their vitals would be recharged :?...I just thought it was cowardice d'oh!
