Yomyth105
Why log into rs to hang out with people when you can just hang out with someone in real life? lol. why train skills when you could e doing something useful in real life! u just got pwned! lol infact why do anything in rs because u can all do something similar to it in real life? we play rs to get away from rl life and because it is enjoying. i dont understand why ppl constantly grind skills rather than spend some time chilling out. Exactly. You should only do things you enjoy. Like I said, everything we do is a waste of our time in the long run. Life isn't permanent. Live for the moment - whatever that may mean to you. Thats exactly what i think. Some people, like me, just arent interested in the social aspect of MMOs (heck, im not that interested in the social aspect of life <,<). If im skilling and a random guy talks to me, i'll usually talk to him too, because its the polite thing to do, not because im really interested in being his friend. I like being in clans, because of the hunts, raids, wars, etc, not because of the chat. In the end, you do what you enjoy, you cant expect everyone else to enjoy the same things you do, what you can do, however, is to look for people that share your opinions and hang out with them, im sure in a big game like RS there are more people that think like you. this isnt the kind of direction i want this thread to go into. dont relate this to real life life but more of how u enjoy rs. wat i am trying to say is that ppl sometimes grind skills they dont find enjoyable rather than hanging out more with rs friends. of course u can hang out with rl friends i mean i do it all the time. hang out as in go to clan wars , pk etc. do ppl really enjoy just mining that same spot over and over? seems idk boring... the point is lots of ppl grind skills without much player to player interaction. sure u can talk to them but isnt it more fun to do actual activities with them. rather than making urself train constantly. Promise
Those were the days. Sadly things change and we just gatta move on. But its close knit communities like tipit that keep friends together and help you make new ones. Might I add its a lot better than the RSOF? FlameHawk18
Everyone seems to love the old days, as well as I. Just the fact you can just adventure with friends, not knowing what'll pop up, or going to the large walls of Falador for the first time, then showing your friend it. Most of my friends I know today I knew back when I was around lv 30 back in 2005, some friends even from the first day I played RuneScape. Two of my best friends, known em since I started playing. But hey, things change, you just gotta adapt. Skill with 'em. If you can't beat em, join em. I've met plenty good friends mining and woodcutting, hell, sometimes even just trying to beat someone up in Castle Wars. Just find something that you enjoy that you can make friends in. Not like you can't be next to 'em and just chill out and skill.
Lacoste
I've posted it once, and will do it again. I hated every minute of training, but I said, ''Don't quit. MicroLegionnaire
I never really bothered socializing with the rest of the game population, and almost everyone on my friends list are my friends IRL. I've always seen the rest of the players as part of the game. Kinda like furniture.

ilovecardj
I find cwars, castlewars, minigames mostly boring. I didnt start a runescape character to make friends, but sure ive made some. Just like you dont start anygame with the intent to socialize/make friends really. I started for fun. I do the game whats fun for me, which is slayer. I enjoy slayer its fun. Me cwaring etc is boring. I chill out with friends, but at things like gwd which I enjoy. I chat in my friends cc and use pm's I dont enjoy standing around with that person talking to them. Its the same thing as pm'ing them really except im bored cause im doing nothing. Or im bored cause its an activity I dont enjoy I do have fun with what I do even if you say im a grinder Dragon Drops: 80+ boots, 7 med, 3 skirt, 2 left half, 2 Spear, 2 2hSlayer: 30+ whips, 4 Bows, 1 Mask, 3 Granite Legs, 1 Visage (Wyverns)Notable GWD Splits: Bandos Tassets: 12, Bandos Chest: 11, Bandos Hilt: 2Proud Slayer of 99 Att/Str/Def/HP/Range/Summoning
SwreeTak
RS is much like what you say here for many people playing it. They haven't understood that you should play for fun. Sure, you don't need to do that all the time, but as often as you can, and certainly the majority of the time you should play because it's fun. IMO, otherwise you shouldn't play RuneScape. Add me if you so wish: SwreeTak

Carl
Your topic is really just personal preferance tbh. I'm one that will only chill, I've no time to train skills any more so I don't bother. I do, however, see what you're saying about people not wanting to be with their friends anymore. I agree with you there, in a way. Talking on the RuneScape over Pm is just the same as talking to them while their character is beside yours. There's no difference at all. So if one can find the time to even just speak over pm their showing they have an interest in their friends. Not one person on my list will not reply if I send them a Pm while they're doing something. They're my true friends. They know who they are btw :D . If someone doesn't want to talk I simply remove them. My list is always full and if I meet someone in-game and they request from me to add them, I'll scan my list and choose someone that dosn't talk to me much and remove them. Friends aren't all that hard to come across. You say it's hard to make friends now and I must disagree. I think it's extreemely easy. The way you act in an area and how much interest you take in a conversation etc. decides whether or not you're a "friendly" person. That is all. Think I've gotten myself confused and ran off with the Topic idk. Head isn't right today so forgive me if what I said isn't relevant/related and just count is as spam? or, a free bump.
