I am not sure if i would call it a must, but it helps quite a bit, and is highly suggested to have when chinning. Edit: Let me put it this way, normal range armor is going to increase your accuracy which isnt really needed there at those lvls. Whats-his-face on the RSOF (some famous guy I can't remember, up there with Zarfot...) did extensive testing with void and d hide, and found that the difference in terms of XP with chins between the two were too small to be measured accurately. At best he found an average of roughly 1k XP\hour better with void. That extra accuracy of D hide really does work wonders...
