October 8, 200817 yr I've spent some time thinking about this, so please, help me refine. I've been reading debates on Attack vs. Strength, which on here run mostly for Attack, but others (in game usually) fend for Strength. So essentially, I've come up with the formula for leveling the 3 Melee Combat stats. 1.) Attack +10 Levels all other combat stats. 2.) Strength - Match to Attack 3.) Defense - Match to Attack and Strength The idea is to do them in order. The reasoning for that is with Attack, BEFORE YOU LEVEL STRENGTH OR DEFENSE, about 10 levels higher you can, A.) At lower levels generally you can use better weapons. B.) You hit more. Then you level Strength to your attack level. A.) With the Higher Attack, you'll hit more. B.) You'll hit more often (hint hint same as A). Then Defense. A.) With Attack and Strength higher, you will hit often and high. For Example, if I want 70 all. Attack First to 70 Strength from 60-70 Defense from 60-70. Then restart the cycle. Does anyone think this is a good formula? If yes, why? If no, why not?
October 8, 200817 yr I think this should be somewhere else, such as general discussion. Generally i train attack. I hit 20's which is generally high enough, and in high quantaties i find it more usefull than the occasional 30. O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O OO O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O
October 8, 200817 yr Take no offence, but any smart runescape player, most likely with 60+ in all would know this. If they dont LOL. Personally I trained controlled with whip a few levels, got slow so I stuffed up and got an atk level. Going to level them out to 73, then controlled 75. Although for your sake I used to do Attack, DEFENCE, strength. I rathered having nice weapons and armour before hitting more. \ I dont need a siggy no moar.
October 8, 200817 yr Yes your method works good. What's bad is training with controlled, since the boosts from stats only count when you get a whole level and not half a level or two thirds of a level. Only reason you'd really want to train with controlled is if you have no choice, or if it's like a whip and you want some strength too. But I don't think this makes any significant difference at all at later levels, it plays a larger role when your stats are lower.
October 8, 200817 yr Author Well as you can tell my Attack is significantly higher than my other combat stats. when I am doing slayer missions, people tend to comment on how often I hit ;)
October 8, 200817 yr Please tell me if you slay you will get 80 defence before strength    :? I dont need a siggy no moar.
October 8, 200817 yr Author I was going to get 75 Strength and see how I felt from there. I've always enjoyed being called a Defense noob, and I prefer the Whip by a longggggg shot from D Scim. I just wanted a little more Strength to up my damage. I feel like following my formula, but 75 Defense will happen soon.
October 8, 200817 yr Personally I find defence more necessary in slayer, since you have to kill more things. 1v1 strength is quite a bit more needed than def, but when you need to stay at a spot for 50 (bank) to 150~ (non banking tasks) you're going to need def alot more :P I dont need a siggy no moar.
October 8, 200817 yr Author I agree and disagree  I agree when it comes to big monsters, but disagree with smaller. I do all my tasks (I haven't done Smoking Kills yet, I have reasons), so I like to 1-2-3 Hit smaller monsters. With Whip, heck sometimes Dscim, I 2 hit the small Kalphites quite often, making that task faster than usual.
October 8, 200817 yr Ya cant hit 25 two times with 74 str. =/ What are your reasons for smoking kills? If you died its probably because of the former lag people got on HD servers when they walked into the mistress place. Anyway you should check what Sumona gives out, seems perfect for an avid slayer who cant use Duradel. :P . And im pretty sure you dont wanna do kalphites anymore. /lame xp. I dont need a siggy no moar.
October 8, 200817 yr Author Kalphite Workers have 40 Hits  The main reason I could come up with, is that without having 100 Combat, I won't be getting the most points for my tasks.
October 8, 200817 yr Chaeldar, proven to be best points for tasks. Except on 10, 20, etc. 2nd is Vannaka Kalphite workers fail epicly then lol. And, Chaeldar doesnt give out epicly hard tasks like black dragons, where its crowded or you cant kill em. :| I dont need a siggy no moar.

Then the highest slayer master you can use on 10th task?
