What I think of noobs-or broader:Runescape (the community).

:boohoo: *epic music*

Tbh..noobs remind me of freshman, they both are and get treated like dirt.(no offence to fellow freshman)

To broaden the subject: Runescape reminds me of highscool.

Freshman:noobs

Upperclassmen:everyone except a noob(<-very vague).

You see (or not); the "Upperclassmen" give the "Freshman" crap AND treat them like it AND they have to take it until they reach a higher status.

So you may be called a noob because of your stats/skills/levels, your popularity, etc.

So whether or not you understood that..I tried to explain it to the best of my capability.

:D :D

That's my theory or whatever you may call it so go ahead, comment on it, add to it, ignore it, or flame me for it-if you'd like.

I don't get it.

Three months banishment to 9gag is something i would never wish upon anybody, not even my worst enemy.

Yep, there are ranks in nearly every society in the world. Even thousands of years ago - you had your peasants, then your workers, then your royals.

Worst analogy ever, do you actually get emotionally hurt if you get called a noob? I think not

Proud to be a noob :)

99 Hits, Attack, Strength, Defence, Mage, Summoning, Slayer, Ranged, 96/99 Prayer

Is this a rant about Rs or high school?

ye being called a noobs sucks but unlike being a "freshman" you can get called a noob thoughout your rs career, ive been called a noob recently and im lvl 108 and i bet lvl 137s and even 138s get called noobs, its like a fact of Rs.

Anyway the words so overused its lost all context so i really dont care when i get called a noob any more.

Theres a fine line between not listening and not caring,

I like to think I walk this line every day.

Pinning blame on Jagex is like trying to put pants on an old man.

You both know he needs them, but he'll just keep dancing around, avoiding them at all costs.

Whilst I don't fully agree with the OP, I can see where he/she is coming from.

I think a vicious circle has evolved around the way certain players treat lower levels.

New players see how they (and others of their level) are treated by some higher levels. When these new players get to a higher level they start acting in the same way to lower levels.

It's a sort of self perpetuating noobocracy (ooh, new word, take that Spellcheck!)

Teeg

You cant compare game and life. And not all freshman get treated the same, just like not all low levels get treated unless they deserved it in one way or another.

i think i understand where you are trying to go with this, but all you have to do is work for a little bit and you join that "upperclassman" group of kids in runescape

where would society be with out ranks?
