The New Zelda Game...

Featured Replies

I know its called Twilight Princess, but can I get some input on what its about and when it comes out?

Wonder if 360 is going to outshadow it...

The music sounds promising! Probably the only thing in the report that interests me.

I'm so glad they're going back to the more realistic graphics. Now if they'll just get better plot and gameplay than Wind Waker, the series will be recovered. (Minish Cap gives me great hope for that, too. ;)) The whole "changing into a wolf" aspect could be really neat, too.

I heard it was going to be way "darker". Like not kiddy like WW. WW new cell shade graphic thing wasnt the smartest option I don't think. Can't wait for it to come out.

And yes, I agree with godslayer. The music is promising.

Oh glorious man of knowledge, mind telling me what was so bad about Wind Wakers gameplay? Seeing as the progression from OoT to MM to WW hasn't changed a thing, just added new features to make them better (Not including the boundless water from WW of course). Or what was so radically bad about Wind Wakers story line compared to any other Zelda game?

Also, to make a tired point: Of course games are all about graphics. All games with the slightest bit of sub-par graphics are instant crap. Yes the graphics were cartoon-y but that doesn't take anything away from the actual game. The cell-shading did just fine, they were a nice change. Calling the game kiddy is a direct shot at the cell-shading and not the game itself, as the general feel of the game is hardly any different than that of OoT.

Now that that's out of the way, Twilight Princess is said to take place in an un-named (As of right now) land other than Hyrule, though you will be in Hyrule for at least a portion of the game. The story involves Link going to a festival of some sort and leads to the events of the rest of the game, which almost certainly involve Gannon, Zelda, a goth looking girl from the official artwork and Link with a special connection to animals in some way.

There is no exact release date, but expect it around Christmas this year.

i remember the 2 zelda's that were on nintendo 64, they were great games. the only ones i've played, havent played any after that

The best Zelda of all time is without a doubt, Link to the Past for SNES.

thinking of zelda brings back so much memories of my child hood, i loves that game and still do, just dont play it anymore. i love it that xbox bought rareware, they made most of nintendos games. hope they redo jet force gemini, i know there doing conkers bad fur day(live and reloaded, out soon) and perfect dark 2.

Lol, it was good, but not a patch on Ocarina of Time. Ocarina is the best game ever, simple as that. The new Zelda looks really good though, and it could even be better than Ocarina. Its coming out around Christmas in the UK, which is rubbish...

There were a few good things about Wind Waker like the gameplay, some of the new weapons, and the incredibly huge environment. But, the graphics and storyline weren't that great... I think the newest one will be an improvement and I hope they continue to refine the gameplay.

Although, in my opinion, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask were the best Zelda games. :)

I had so many memories of Link to the Past that I will never forget. I agree Ocarana of Time was incredible and really fun and overall great, but theres something about Link to the Past that makes it one of my favourite games of all time. Maybe its because it was the first RPG I ever played, and the best.

Also, about the new Zelda, am I the only one who thinks it looks really similiar to Fable? I mean graphically, gameplay, and controls.

Lol, I bet you are the only one. Fable is a proper RPG, in what you get experience, and from what i've seen doesn't have the dark atmosphere of the new Zelda. And one big point: the new Zelda will be good, Fable wasa typical terrible Xbox RPG.

i managed to get a preorder of it and have it shipped to my Chem teacher's right when it comes out. She is a big Zelda fan and i hope she puts some work into my recommendation

I'm not going to get into a Nintendo angry fanboy against Xbox angry fanboy argument, but Fable did deliver alot of new RPG elements that effected the video game industry.

Anyways, to rephrase what I said, they do seem similiar to me. The bow and arrow system you can target (or go into free First Person mode). The main combat is hack n' slash. And graphically, Zelda is supposed to be "darker", but they look about the same quality.

I hope the new game is alot harder than Windwaker.

Zelda Windwaker was to easy and the monsters was weak and the boss's to :(

Maybe it would be a good idea to switch from Nintendo to Sony or Microsoft.

Sorry to break it to you, but the average games are easy on Nintendo.

If you don't want an argument to happen, don't start one yourself.

I only have played 1 Zelda game and i thought it was fabulous

It was Zelda:Ocarana of Time for N64 and i was seriouslly addicted to it for a while

I hope this one is good too

Oh yeah, a statement like "All Nintendo games are easy. Play X-Box and PS2 games." isn't biased or generalizing at all. What exactly are you basing all this on? The fact that you own three consoles? Wow, I'm impressed. My working at a Gamestop for three years and playing video games all my life (Not saying that you havn't played a lot of video games, so don't try and say that) is dwarfed to your power of owning three gaming consoles or your experience and "advice".

I can deal with and have accepted the fact that Nintendo is losing much of its ground to Sony (Not that I'm all that biased towards Nintendo, I'll take a PC over any console), but I think I'm gonna draw the line at "All Nintendo games are easy. Switch to PS2 and X-Box." Until you show me a multi-console game where the GCN version is the 2005 equivalent of an old NES Barney game, thus giving any kind of support to your contemptible position, I don't think your 'experience and advice' has all that much significance.

So when I say 'average Nintendo games are easier than average Playstation or XBox games' you quote me on saying "all Nintendo games are easy". Very good quoting skills.

I'm giving him my advice from personal experience and my opinion and input.

So that makes your whole point in the arguement pretty much useless because of that mis-quote.

Even the games I thought would be a struggle, such as Metroid Prime, have auto-aim. At least they should of given you the choice to use the C-stick and analog to control Y-axis and X-axis for more of a challenge. This is just an example, not basing all games on Metroid Prime.
