  1. Making a bit o' a big deal about a pre-season game arn't ya? Nah, I know how you feel, the beginning of football season is always the best part of the year. Detroit vs. Braylon Edwards err... Cleveland for Super Bowl XXXX, mark it down. Seriously, as long as the Pats don't win it again I'll be happy.
  2. Yes, 'tis a sad time for all trek-kind. When I first heard about it I said these exact words to a friend of mine: "I will be sorely disappointed if his funeral is anything less than Doohan being shot out of a working replica of the Enterprise in a giant sun-glasses case". I had no idea I'd be half-right, but it is a very fitting way for him to go out. Though, this means I wont get to go to his funeral. Or will there be some kind of viewing area for this Falcon 1 rocket come September?
  3. Sorry, but I can't let this one slip by... Worst. Logic. Ever. The order they came out in has absolutely nothing to do with weather or not the good guys win. The series ended with Episode VI(6): Return of the Jedi, when the second Death Star is destroyed and the good Rebellion winning over the evil Empire. Episode III(3): Revenge of the Sith is set roughly 20 years before Episode IV(4): A New Hope. Then it is another 4 years from the events in the beginning of ANH to the end of RotJ. If I tried to make a bad analogy: If there were two movies made about World War II. The first one to come out takes place on D-Day and then follows the allies moving into Germany and ends with the allies winning. The second to come out (Set before the first) ends with, oh let's say, the Battle of France where Germany invades France and has an upper-hand in the war. By your logic the Axis would have won WWII. I don't know how to make that any more simplistic.
  4. 'Bout a month to late for that one. Meaning Memorial Day if you didn't catch that.
  5. Average Noun The usual or ordinary kind or quality: Although the wines vary, the average is quite good. Average encompasses the majority of games on the system. Obviously the quotation marks arn't used as exact, to the letter, quotations just as a gist of what you said. Don't pull that misquotation crap. Lock-on targeting is a bad thing? Not having to deal with the horrid complications of dual-analog controls. Making games hard shouldn't come form giving it ball-breakingly hard controls, it should come from the game itself. A concept lost on every platform.
  6. Oh yeah, a statement like "All Nintendo games are easy. Play X-Box and PS2 games." isn't biased or generalizing at all. What exactly are you basing all this on? The fact that you own three consoles? Wow, I'm impressed. My working at a Gamestop for three years and playing video games all my life (Not saying that you havn't played a lot of video games, so don't try and say that) is dwarfed to your power of owning three gaming consoles or your experience and "advice". I can deal with and have accepted the fact that Nintendo is losing much of its ground to Sony (Not that I'm all that biased towards Nintendo, I'll take a PC over any console), but I think I'm gonna draw the line at "All Nintendo games are easy. Switch to PS2 and X-Box." Until you show me a multi-console game where the GCN version is the 2005 equivalent of an old NES Barney game, thus giving any kind of support to your contemptible position, I don't think your 'experience and advice' has all that much significance.
  7. Maybe it would be a good idea to switch from Nintendo to Sony or Microsoft. Sorry to break it to you, but the average games are easy on Nintendo. Not even two posts ago you yourself said: If you don't want an argument to happen, don't start one yourself.
  8. Oh glorious man of knowledge, mind telling me what was so bad about Wind Wakers gameplay? Seeing as the progression from OoT to MM to WW hasn't changed a thing, just added new features to make them better (Not including the boundless water from WW of course). Or what was so radically bad about Wind Wakers story line compared to any other Zelda game? Also, to make a tired point: Of course games are all about graphics. All games with the slightest bit of sub-par graphics are instant crap. Yes the graphics were cartoon-y but that doesn't take anything away from the actual game. The cell-shading did just fine, they were a nice change. Calling the game kiddy is a direct shot at the cell-shading and not the game itself, as the general feel of the game is hardly any different than that of OoT. Now that that's out of the way, Twilight Princess is said to take place in an un-named (As of right now) land other than Hyrule, though you will be in Hyrule for at least a portion of the game. The story involves Link going to a festival of some sort and leads to the events of the rest of the game, which almost certainly involve Gannon, Zelda, a goth looking girl from the official artwork and Link with a special connection to animals in some way. There is no exact release date, but expect it around Christmas this year.
  9. 1) Left. (Though I do happen to have a OoT poster on my wall) 2) What the hell? 3) The stone that makes the controller rumble that I can't remember the name of? 4) Lon Lon Ranch. 5) Ten. 6) Tunic maybe. 7) A what now? 8) King of Red Lions. 9) No idea... 100 rupees? 10) Wind.
  10. Maybe it's because you're running RS at the same time...
  11. As Pete said: Gandalf would win. But come on: vs. No contest.
  12. Found this on Google, the person with the same problem said the following fixed it: So you could try saving it to your computer then unziping it.
  13. Well, sounds like you were trying to install a DesktopX Theme. I've never used DesktopX but when you use that it more or less changes the background, and adds DesktopX objects and Widgets too (I could be entirely wrong, I've used it for about three seconds). I find it much easier to use WindowBlinds which changes your start menu, toolbar, title bars, etc. and then add anything else you want with other programs. If you're set on using DesktopX someone else could be a thousand times more helpful than me.
  14. As much as you seem to think you were the first one to find this it's been discussed for a good six months already. I don't have time to look the arguments up right now but I think it had something to do with Ms. Organa dying or something of the like.
  15. And how else do you propose an office worker making a few thousand a year reach an audience of 122 people per minute? Buy his own Satellite Network? Create a nationwide newsletter? Spam your e-mail? His "Hiding behind a PC" is not hiding but using the most efficient form of translating his ideas. It's nothing but hypocritical saying someone using a web site to get their ideas across is too afraid to voice their opinion while you sit there on an online message board doing the same thing. Sounds like you're being a cynical troll to me.
  16. Why are they so "_REALLY_" bad? Everybody seems to be saying they're all so amazingly bad, but I havn't heard anybody saying WHY they are so amazingly bad. " " Because the acting was terrible and the plot moved extremely slowly. All the dialogue was wooden and dull, and young Anakin was just plain annoying. Obviously, the special effects were good, but overall, those movies were about as cool as AIDS. Oh yeah, here's a perfect example of all this^: Anakin is a natural born pilot, right? So that old jedi guy tells him to sit and hide in the cockpit. Being naturally cool, of course, Anakin flies off and saves the world. Great. In the process, he finds some crazy enemy on his butt that he wants to get away from. He thinks about this for about thirty seconds, then slowly says "I'll try rolling - that's a good trick (rolls) wwooooooaaaaaahhhhh........" (Camera rolls over - audience rolls eyes, and the enemy is miraculously defeated) Anyone else remember that particular scene? It was maybe the cheesiest piece of carp Ive ever seen. ANYWAY....I read a review of the third one and supposedly it was really good, so I'll probably see it despite the fact that 1 and 2 bite wastewater. What?! Jake Lloyd ruining Episode I!?! Blasphemy!!! Honestly, a deaf, blind, mute could figure out that that kid was a looser and screwed up the entire movie. He doesn't disserve all the blame though, Jar-Jar Binks should get at least half of the guilt for Episode one being on the bad end of the movie spectrum.
  17. Advanced tickets went on sale the 6th, I bought my midnight showing tickets that same day. It's kind of a bitter-sweet realization that this is (most likely) the last Star Wars movie, *sheds a single, manly tear*.
  18. Stats on your pc? unless it horibly sucks i'm preaty sure it can run. Well, HL2 can barely run for more than half an hour, and I just doubt that I'd be able to play a game like Guild Wars online.
  19. Ahh, beautiful. If only my computer could handle a game of that quality online. Once I get some more money after having to buy a new car, I'll finally replace this giant paperweight on my desk. Anyway, it seems like Guild Wars is living up to its hype, and considering the hype around it, that's a very good thing. Edited to fix layout
  20. I thought the elderly were part of the general population already... Why not 'work on' the elderly at the same time as everyone else? Because retired elderly people probably drive much, much less than the average 20-50 year old person and thus cause much less accidents than the average person. Edit: I think I should make the point of my original post clear: there is more of a problem and thousands of more accidents caused by average-age people (20's-50's) than the elderly.
  21. It should be our priority to make the general population safe drivers before we start working on the elderly.
  22. 8-Bit Theatre has never steered me wrong and until enough people tell me that they're wrong and Garth Jennings didn't ruin it by gutting the jokes for more plot and special effects I'm not seeing it. Not that I get why we're comparing LotR and The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galxy as if they're the only two (four) movies to ever be made from books but the LotR movies are nowhere near being better than the books. Now, I'm not a 'movie' person and I could not care less about an actor not being believable as a character (as long as they don't screw up the lines they did a good job in my book) so there might have been artistic crap like that that was wrong with the movie, but they were good enough (The leaving out Tom Bombadil, having elves at the Hornburg, and the fact that they needed to be compressed knocked them down a notch) but the books were great. Maybe that fact that you kept reading an 1100 page trilogy while you did not like them influenced your opinion a bit (Not that I'm not biased), I know if my teachers in grade school made me read an entire 1000+ page book I wouldn't of liked it either.
  23. Oh no big bad old fox :( God one thing against wal mart is something but what the hell have fox ever done except bring us timeless classics like simpsons and futurama. God i hate crap like that. What? Wal-Mart? Heaven forbid I have a grudge against a network who is trying to buy back an audience that Adult Swim earned. Besides, we all sadly know that The Simpsons are going down-hill, as much as I hate to admit it, and FOX will end up junking them soon enough. Those are just two shows that happened to be good ones, what about all the six million other shows of mind-rotting garbage that they show?
  24. Or you could not support FOX and just watch them when Adult Swim airs them in a week or two.
  25. Hell, you need a name? Just let me start spouting off LotR characters: -Manwe -Varda -Ulmo -Aule -Mandos -Lorien -Tulkas -Yavanna -Nienna -Este -Vaire -Vana -Nessa -Olorin -Incanus -Tharkun -Curumo -Osse Those are all the Ainur I can think off of the top of my head. There's extra punctuation in a lot of those and I could look up the meaning if you wanted to know them. I'll take that $100,000 in the form of a new corvette if you will
