October 19, 200817 yr after the pvp update many items have risen. these include wat many classify as pking equipment. ex pkers and stakers came back after almost a year and have money to spend. the items that r in high demand include: food ( lobster to even sardines jumped up high), potions (str pots have gone up), rune weapons (scimitars and rune 2h, the most used weapons have increased alot), armor (rune armors i believe also went up) now. my question is ... will these prices go back to normal. if so how long? it may be possible that they stay up there for a long time. it was a sudden increase and nobody saw it coming and now all ppl want is food and weps. + trading gaps r also there. can someone tell me for how long it will take for prices to go back to normal and for how much longer will they be rising. i want a rune scimitar cuz i just got 40attack on my pure but its 20k. will it go back to 30k like the good ole days?
October 19, 200817 yr 2 weeks max? unless some people stockpiled so much that they basically control the market. If thats the case its going to lowly go down over a month.
October 19, 200817 yr Well I saw this coming and bought myself A darkbow at 960K its 1Mil now and rising. When Should I sell? How many runescapers does it take to fix a lightbulb?50, 1 to screw it in and 49 to complain that it was better before.
October 19, 200817 yr I don't think they ever will... I think lots of prices are headed back to pre-GE days. OH S***! He/she/it is back!
October 19, 200817 yr Author I don't think they ever will... I think lots of prices are headed back to pre-GE days. that is wat i am starting to be afraid of. will this happen?
October 19, 200817 yr I haven't been here lately(well, started playing again a month or two ago). Do you mean that the prices will go higher? Also, is it a good idea to try and sell dragon daggers right now? Click here to learn the best profit from MTK.
October 19, 200817 yr It's hard to tell whither the prices will average out at a much higher price than before PVP or if all the new skillers attracted by the extremely high prices will boost the supply and prices fall back to normal. Really that depends on what is more popular, or what becomes more popular over the long run. PVP or Skilling. Right now it's PVP, so prices will continue to rise over the next few weeks. However with all the negative opinions PVP is getting I'd be willing to bet that the popularity of it will soon die down, and prices either return to normal or stabalize at a new higher price if it's more popular than I think it will be. -Recipient of Lesser Demon Champion Scroll
October 19, 200817 yr Hehe, I visit some of the manipulator clan chats to get a good sight on what will rise and fall. Over the next few days the Armadyl God Sword will drop, along with quite a few other expensive items. But for the lowering price, it could take weeks. And some items (such as whips) might be up for months until we get them resupplied with more people going to Abyssal demons. Retired Crew Member | Retired RuneScape Player

October 19, 200817 yr Weapons and armor prices have been steadily going down lately, but now it seems they're going up. :|

October 20, 200817 yr Author i,ve stock-piled massively got 37 rune scims, 43 rune 2hs.. etc nice! and btw this topic is only concerning f2p.
November 25, 200817 yr The rune scimitar ----F2P In my opinion, it will go down but not for a while. If you look at the trends it has gone up over 200% in 1.5 months and is still growing. But eventually, it will rise too high (45k) estimated at around December 1st, where people will have found a substitute to it. Already many people began buying short swords instead of scimitars, and battle axes instead of rune 2hs. Initially, the range-baxe tactic was started because 2hs were in such high demand that it was impossible to get one easily. The same thing will happen with scims, people will resort to either range-baxe (most likely) or short sword baxe combos. This will result in the lower price of scims, and the higher price of short swords and baxes which will lower 2hs and stabilize equipment for a short term period. During this period the price of runite ores will drop and will result in less people mining and more people buying runite ores for smithing. This will result in more rune weapons and lower the price of them even more. When the cost of weapons are lowered, pkers will have more money than they did b4 and will now stop using tuna as a substitute for lobsters, so the price of tunas will lower again but the demand for lobsters will go even higher. Then more people will start fishing instead of smithing and this is around the time everyone would have switched back to scimitars from short swords/range, so the market will continue to fluxuate in this pattern until further updates are made, or until people learn to read forums. Second reason for increase of price in scimitar. WARNING THIS IS JUST A SPECULATION - NO ACTUAL EVIDENCE Since pvp worlds have come out, people have been losing their scimitars when they die, but the person who kills the person might not recieve a scimitar because of the random drop system. This has resulted in the scimitars dissappearing from the game forever and eventually there are fewer and fewer scims and the demand is rising higher and higher (but of course not as high as the first week of pvp). Whereas in bounty hunting, scims did drop and were successfully looted atleast 80% of the time. But in pvp worlds, resources show that only 15% of scims lost are recollected. When Jagex decides to give this a fix to help the economy, to make the likelyhood of rune scimies drop more instead of other things. Safe to say the woodcutting and fletching industries will remain stable. I have no words on the runecrafting industry as i dont give a carp about them because you can frikin buy them at unlimited amounts from the general store, and people are wasting their time on runecrafting and could be doing better things like helping out the pkers by stockpiling fish.
