  1. Thanks for the idea! The Glories would initially be more expensive to buy, but their ability to be recharged and resold means you could probably get all if not most of your money back reselling them when you're done. Good thing I only bought 10 RoD's, now I can just switch to Glories.
  2. I was wondering if this was the fastest possible way to train at Ectofuntus, I have already looked at Tip.It's own method and thought I could make some improvements in terms of speed efficiency, though I would like the opinion of other people who have trained there for extended periods of time. Here is my improvised method, and BTW I'm using Dragon bones: ------Get 325 buckets and pots------------- >Take 27 buckets using Ectophial with Ring of Dueling equipped >>Teleport to EP/Refill Ectophial >>>Go downstairs/fill buckets >>>>Teleport to CW(Ring of Dueling teleport) >>>>>Bank ------Repeat until all 325 buckets are filled >Get 13 bones & 13 pots using Ectophial with Ring of Dueling in inventory >>Teleport to EP/Refill Ectophial >>>Go upstairs/grind bones(which now only requires you click the loader once and wait) >>>>Teleport to CW >>>>>Bank ------Repeat until all 325 pots are filled--- >Get 13 pots of Bonemeal and 13 buckets of slime >>Teleport to EP/Refill Ectophial >>>Worship 12 times >>>>Claim tokens >>>>>Worship 1 time >>>>>>Claim token >>>>>>>Teleport to CW >>>>>>>>Bank ------Repeat until desired level----------- Note: Filling 325 pots/buckets will get you approx. 25 trips of worship before process has to be repeated. I can't say with 100% certainty that this is faster than the method suggested on this site, but this just seems like a better way of doing it to me. This method also minimizes your trips upstairs and downstairs, whereas the method already suggested on this site has you going upstairs and downstairs a lot more, however you will blow through more RoD's but the increased cost is pretty negligible.
  3. Like most I have more than one favorite memory. 1.) It was my 3rd or 4th day of playing - sometime in early 05 - and for some reason wandered over to the crafting guild, some guy was there and offered to make me some armor if I would get the materials for him. So he tells me go make a few bronze bars and bring them back and when I did he kindly made me a full set of bronze armor, which I thought was so cool and nice of him. I spent the next 15 or so minutes parading around in bronze armor because it was the first armor set I'd ever had. 2.) Doing Underground Pass with some guy I'd never met before, but we stuck it out with each other the couple hours it took us to finish and I had loads of fun with him. It was great to have someone right there to share the frustration of falling into all those traps, too. 3.) Getting 99 Fishing. I had a decent sized party and my best RS friend who had got 99 fishing a few months before me came along with a dozen other random people. 4.) Completing Recipe for Disaster, the most fun I've had in this game EVER. And I was so elated at finally having Barrows gloves.
  4. Lets see I regret accidentally alching my Fury Amulet and getting full Void Knight. Looking back getting that was such a waste of time. I could have used all those points for tons of exp and now I don't even wear it anymore. -.-
  5. Assuming I had 99 Cooking by then I wouldn't take a penny less than 600$ for it. 40M in cash and items, 2 99's and 102 combat seem worth that to me going off what I've seen some other accounts offered for. Don't get me wrong I don't hunt for good deals on Runescape accounts but I do come across the occasional article on Craig's List. I see a lot of WoW accounts there too...
  6. I don't pass judgment on another player if they're a high level but with no skill cape. There are plenty of other priorities and goals one can set besides getting 99 in something. Runescape is after all a Role Playing Game and being a 99 skiller isn't the only role to fill nor the most important, impressive or satisfying. However I consider a high combat level an achievement in of itself, negating the need to get a skill cape for respect.
  7. 1. 110 (WITHOUT Summoning) 2. 2K 3. 90 4. 230
  8. Now I can see why sometimes I get blown off by 130's, that would get pretty tiring after awhile, being asked the same questions day in and day out. :?
  9. I think it just has to do with the fact your combat level is in the triple digits, no matter where you are in the 100s just seeing 3 digits instead of 2 gets you a lot more respect. And I have noticed a difference in how people talk to me, or how I get approached by someone since I joined the 100+ club (102 CB). Though one potential disadvantage of leveling too far up out of want for respect is as someone stated after a certain point - 120 CB or so - other players seem too intimidated to try and talk to you, inadvertently isolating you from the community. Even I'm a little hesitant sometimes to try and start a conversation with someone in the 130's because I feel like they'll just blow me off, which has happened a few times.
  10. It's a shame I rather dislike both of these skills or I might be excited. However I fail to see any connection between possible RC, Mining updates and Sailing. Steel and Iron work find for building boats, and if the boats did have weapons I imagine a cannonball and tinderbox would be enough to operate one. Nice find though OP.
  11. Is this simply a matter of opinion, or has it been statistically proven that one of either methods of fishing, harpoon or barbarian, is faster than the other? I achieved 99 fishing about a month ago now, and when I went back to fishing sharks with a harpoon I decided to try a load of fishing barbarian just to compare the the speeds and for the longest time I'd been an avid believer that harpoon fishing was faster, but at 99 fishing the speeds seem exactly the same to me. My theory is they both have the same speed caps at 99, but barbarian seems slower at just the required level because of the 20 additional levels needed to fish shark with that method, which made it seem much slower to me in the beginning. Just today I asked someone also with 99 fishing what they thought of the speed difference between barbarian and harpoon fishing at 99 because I was using barbarian while he a harpoon, and he still thought harpooning was much faster. Is this true?
  12. I'd like to see Jagex make some new, decent armor that isn't Dragon. The "success" of the Dragon Platebody has shown us that updating Dragon armor is useless now becuase it's been out so long people have lost interest and there are so many other alternatives. Though I wouldn't mind seeing a Dragon Defender or pick axe like some other people have suggested, it would be way more useful and I believe well received than another long overdue and outdated armor piece.
  13. Jagex probably couldn't care less if you were serious about killing yourself, they have plenty of other witless kiddies who are perfectly happy and still paying their 5 smackaroos a month, the automated message says that much. And as someone else said the reason they send a message at all is probably for legal reasons. They're superficial interest in your "real world" safety is pretty laughable though, and deserves a LOL.
  14. Nice lists here, and I can say I learned something with these. I was surprised to see only 11K people had 99 fishing, I thought it was more than that. Anyway I might be wrong, but in my opinion the hardest skill to master is Farming, "mad props" to anyone with 99 in that.
  15. If my account were deleted/banned I would never touch this game again... ever. I've put hundreds of hours into a single character, just to reach the goal of respectable levels, gear and money, and though I am addicted to this game like a hobo to heroin I wouldn't under any circumstances be willing to repeat those 100s of hours just to get to a level in the game I've already played at, which has taken me a year to get to, [kittens] that.
  16. I would go for cooking, but even I think getting 99 in one of these skills JUST to get a skill cape is kind of sad. I could see if you wanted to trim a decent skill cape. But really the only thing an untrimmed cooking/fire making/fletching cape is going to get you is being looked down on. :| Though if you really want one, get it. However most people I talk to who spend lots of money and time on one of these 3 skills as a first 99 usually regret it afterwards. My advice is to go for a 99 that will make you lots of money in the process, take fishing for example.
  17. I'm going to say well done on giving that pompous [wagon] a taste of his own bile, however I would really love to see a screen shot of the message Jagex sent you about the action taken against the moderator, just to authenticate your story. ;) I've also had trouble with a moderator once, I got muted for a completely unrealistic reason and within half an hour someone at Jagex HQ removed it, thankfully.
  18. Miner is completely right, Strength is probably the most over rated combat skill out of all of them. It doesn't matter if you can hit high if you can't hit them at all, or they hit you more often. It's way more combat effective to be able to hit faster although lower than your opponent and to get hit less often than to not hit as often, a lot higher, and to take damage more often. Look at it this way. Player#1: stats are 80 attack - 90 strength - 75 defence. VS. Player#2: stats are 90 attack - 75 strength - 80 defence. Odds are Player#2 is going to kick Player#1's [wagon] into the next PVP world.
  19. I used Guthans for awhile and it seemed to me that I got the healing effect a lot more often when I used the slash/shared xp attack style over the others. That might help.
  20. For scenario #1 I would give them only a portion of that 10M back, say 2M and the rest is a finders fee, otherwise how will they learn not to go into dangerous areas with ridiculous amounts of GP? Next time they'll no better and I'll have taught them a valuable lesson. And even if I did keep all of it so what? It's virtual money, no physical or real financial harm will come to whoever lost it to begin with. For scenario #2 as long as it was in a wallet with ID I would try my absolute hardest to get that 100$ back to whoever lost it. That could be their rent or grocery money for all you know and keeping it could seriously screw something up in their lives. Also I would feel pretty obligated to find the person as once I lost my wallet in a mall with 250$ in it, and I got it back with no money missing.
  21. At least the new Dragon Plate has better stats than a Bandons Plate for the extra price. I'm just hoping over eager fashion freaks will start dumping their Bandos for D Plate money and lower the price on Bandos, which will get me a good deal.
  22. It's nice to finally see my suspicions confirmed, I told one of my friends to get all the points he could NOW on the day of realease because it was certain Jagex was going to nurf the current points system. It was obvious people were getting points and rewards wich such ease at a rate that was not intended, tons of people were running around with tools and full sets of combat gear on the first day.
  23. As already said, great rant, and I whole heartedly agree. I just noticed that they finally fixed the glitch with Torag Platebody, and that occured right after the bank update some months ago. :wall: As far as I know the other glitches with Barrows and lots of other armour pieces have yet to be fixed. I fear this quantity over quality mindset Jagex has seem to taken a liking too will lead to a drop in the games popularity. And after hearing that most of the tools from SC don't work I think I'll pass on wasting time to get them until they're fixed. #-o
  24. Yes the use of any kind of third party program in the game is illegal.
  25. Rune Defenders aren't impossible to get, but there are a few things you can do to get one faster/more effeciently. If you just go in there and camp a cyclops you're never going to get anything. The absolute best thing to do is bring a super set, whip/dragon scim, good food depending on how long you're going to stay in the room, wear a ring of wealth(a must) and to circulate through the room either in a clockwise or counter clockwise fashion killing cyclopses. It will do little good to sit and kill the same cyclopse over and over, or even kill them in a random pattern. I have done this many times, and always when I circulate through the room in a cirlce I get a defender MUCH faster.
