  1. Close second for me, the koreans get the first place. In Korea it is widely accepted as a fact that if you go to sleep with a fan on in a room you can die. Well.. you CAN, but the fan isn't likely to cause it.
  2. Saying I'm amazing at Gin would sound arrogant... but I'm amazing at Gin.
  3. Why is "tastes" in a different font than "like"? Something's fishy here... :-k Confession: Sometimes boyzloveme can make me feel really good about myself. You are a true friend. *huggles* It was one of those fat markers, I started writing with the thin side to aid legibility for the smaller words.
  4. Only way to prove it is a pic with you in it and "TIF FTW." Otherwise, you are a troll. What would "TIF tastes like my underwear: very good" mean? (I need to stop posting at 2:00 am....) God only knows...
  5. Full slayer helmet with dhide. Go slay or go home.
  6. I never thought melee would be surpassed as the most cost and time efficient way to deal damage... oh wait...
  7. I disagree... in my experience it can make a sizable difference.

    Today...

You tried to commit suicide right ? How old are you ?! Yeah... today sucked at least as bad too. I'm 17. Haven't been able to eat in 24 hours, haven't wanted to for a week at least... and that's just a symptom of a symptom. I think I got caught skipping 7th period today too... fml
  9. This is kind of all three rolled into one... I almost, I mean really close, committed suicide today.

    Today...

Today was one of the worst I have ever had. I'm practically in shock it was so harrowing.
  11. Then you might want to change your stance a bit. You support Nazi ideals, therefore you are a Nazi. Jew or not. Honestly it is pathetic that you don't see the disturbing similarity...
  12. Have you considered none at all? Not everybody who is deluded about one thing or another must suffer from a mental disorder. It is likely... a stressor as big as having a completely nonfunctional child is very likely to cause mental illness of some kind. And even if she is deluded and not at all mentally ill it is certainly possible that it could develop. Living in a fabricated reality (she thinks her child is functional, attributes random twitches as signs of it not being a vegetable, she isn't all there) for very long will have a harmful effect, such as manifestation of progressive mental problems. Are you f***king kidding me?! People who are pyschologically dependent on cigarettes or other drugs may not be very capable of making a "rational" decision regarding drug use, but that doesn't mean it's the government's job to force Nicotine patches and rehabilitation on them against their wishes. What you are suggesting is essentially attempting to improve society's well-being by deciding for them what is best, and then forcing that decision on them regardless of their wishes and legal rights. This entire thread has been a revolting display of Off-Topic's dark side. Nazism has been brought up a number of times not because of Goodwin's Law, but because some of the views expressed here mirror those of Hitler and other totalitarian regimes. No, not suggesting that society or the government do anything. When I wrote that I was thinking of friends/family giving the push, not society. Something will give the push eventually, like the child dying or insurance refusing to pay (not sure if insurance is involved but since medical care is so expensive I am assuming so). I did not say that the child should be forcibly taken from her by the government, ideologically I would be strongly against that. I think she needs to be guided towards the most beneficial solution but it is not the government or society's place to do so, that's a slippery slope. Also, stop with the "society's well being" argument. I don't give a damn about society. Only thing I have any real feeling for in this is the mother and her psychological well-being. The baby isn't a problem for society and I am not claiming that it is, make sure you correctly comprehend someone's argument before attempting to oppose it. It is a problem for the mother, and she fails to see that, and she needs to be helped to make the correct decision. Delusions do not "evolve into schizophrenia." It's absolutely laughable to assume that this individual must have an unsurfaced case of schizophrenia -- something that is nearly if not entirely undetectable given what little information we have about her -- and then to assume that the realization of her own delusion -- assuming it ever occurs -- will trigger this underlying schizophrenia. I encourage you to stop trying to diagnose this woman before you make yourself look any more foolish. Schizophrenia is characterized by deficient capability to perceive the world around us. Delusional individuals, if left alone, can develop schizophrenia (it isn't a guarantee, and my wording was a little too absolute). I also never said she has a pre-existing case of "underlying" schizophrenia, like I said above, make sure you comprehend what you are opposing. Oh yeah, "realization of her own delusion" wouldn't trigger schizophrenia, it would prevent it. And lastly, I told you I wasn't trying to diagnose her, I stated twice in my original post that I wasn't - I doubt you even read all of it. I was simply stating my opinion and I don't think I made myself look foolish - maybe to you, but you seem incapable of deriving meaning from my words. I think there is a fool here, but it isn't me. EDIT: In case I haven't made it clear already I am going to state that I am not one of those who espouses Hitler-esque beliefs and I do not wish to be incorrectly labeled - especially when dealing with such potentially destructive beliefs. If you seem to think I do then it is either a failure of comprehension on your part or a poor choice of words on mine. EDIT2: Hey, venomai - remember this? Probably not, you didn't read my whole post... So, I don't know what to say here... "look before you leap" maybe?
  13. *Loads up shotguns, automatic weapons, and pisotls* I need some gum... Congratulations, of all the weapons you picked, only one would make any sense to use against zombies  Well an automatic weapon with sufficient caliber and muzzle velocity (think along the lines of RPK-74 or similar) would cause huge damage that could kill a zombie probably pretty easily, assuming you get hits in the head. A powerful pistol with hollowpoints would also do pretty good damage, but with the similar limitation of the machine gun. And then there's special mercury bullets designed to transfer all momentum into the target, I'd probably call 'em headpoppers.
  14. [hide=Original quote and response] I hinted at this myself earlier... You're right. People who berate you for simply stating it are overly-confident in the strength of the human mind. I think you'd be hard pressed to find any previously-sane individual who wouldn't crack in this situation. She's developing a delusional adjustment disorder. I could look up some facts and attempt to narrow down a few possible things it could be. Might post it later after I consult Wikipedia and the DSM-IV. EDIT: Probably will, almost definitely, not like I have a life or anything to preoccupy me.[/hide]EDIT2: She seems to be firmly set in one of the main coping categories, I'll (through combination of two similar definitions) describe this category as: Including cognitive or internal strategies, this involves avoiding, minimizing, distancing, or seeking value in negative events. The person modifies their thinking and employs strategies such as denial to help them manage the problem. I'm most interested in that last one, sounds exactly like the situation at hand. Evidence of this can be in the article posted on the blog in the original post: Sorry. Not true. She is in denial and has deluded herself into thinking she actually has given birth to anything close to a normal child. One of the classifications describing delusional disorders stood out in particular to me: "It is a stable disorder characterized by the presence of delusions to which the patient clings with extraordinary tenacity." Her tenacity is clearly evidenced by her militant rejection of reason stemming from her unwillingness to accept the fact that her child barely (if at all) fits the definition of a human being. There is a problem with saying she has a delusional disorder when she, despite being clearly delusional, does not actually fit any of the sub-classifications of delusional disorders. There is the allowance of a classification of "unspecified" to be used when the delusional individual does not fit any of the other categories but it is likely that somewhere there is another, more appropriate, diagnosis (I hesitate to use this word since I cannot actually expect to diagnose anything due to my lack of a medical degree or any formal training, I'm simply making informed guesses). A possible classification is that of acute stress disorder, however this is a more ambiguous classification and more of a category than a distinct illness. Despite this it can be shown that she exhibits many of the general symptoms (they vary more as classifications get more specific) of acute stress disorder. Her withdrawal into a fabricated reality to escape the stress of her situation is the main example, but her absolute and extreme responses to criticism can also be seen as evidence of a stress disorder. To conclude this lengthy and time-consuming post I'll state once again that this is logical conjecture based on informal yet extensive self-education and that I am not qualified to make an actual diagnosis (which is why I'm uncomfortable using that word). I also must include that I truly feel for this woman and that in some ways (denial) I can sympathize with her plight... This sympathy does not, like with some others here, lead me to believe that she should be left to make the decision herself. She is incapable of rationally acting in the interest of her long-term psychological health and she needs to be pushed to give up on her lost cause so the healing process can begin. When convinced to do so she is likely, almost assured, to lapse into a major depressive episode or worse as a result of the trauma from having to confront reality. However this is necessary for her long-term well being, the other option is to allow her delusional state to evolve into schizophrenia. P.S. Don't attack me on the basis that I lack empathy for the child or that I am cruel and heartless. I am concerned for the one human being in this situation and harsh action is necessary, it isn't a lack of empathy that I am displaying, it's rather a lack of misdirected empathy. You are welcome to dispute the scientific points in this post though, but be sure to dispute them in a scientific way rather than attacking my personal qualifications (or lack thereof); there's a reason I openly acknowledged them, you can think of it as "flame-proofing".
  15. My RL ranged level is a lot higher. Str ftl lololpl0x EDIT: This means I kinda fail... Bench 10 under bodyweight (137), same for squat.
  16. Finally a comprehensive attempt to answer this question once and for all. I'll do both at fire giants when I get ticked off by thieving (won't take long). My personal opinion is that the ring does work, on occasion, but generally I find it to be a waste of the ring slot where I prefer to have my archer.
  17. Stance:  Religion: :notalk: Orientation: ;) This is a funny question. Political correctness... an annoying concept. From a social perspective it is hard not to offend people either way, which means other considerations would have to be made. From an economic perspective it is a bad move for Jagex to change this or even acknowledge the issue. Besides, if a player wishes to circumvent the specific example you gave they can change their character's gender before starting the quest and then change it back. Not sure how that works with game continuity, depends how the engine works really.
  18. You're saying she shouldn't get attached to her daughter because of the issue at hand. Ken was just pointing out that the issue of man's mortality doesn't stop us from loving/embracing/caring for each other while we still can, even though it's all technically in vain and being happy about it must just be a "delusion". Somewhat, mostly what I'm saying is that in this case the only alternative that will be good for the mother's sanity will be to let the baby die. And even then she'll be hardcore messed up for a long time.
  19. She isn't enjoying anything; any enjoyment she is feeling is a delusion, a defense mechanism so she doesn't have to confront the issue at hand. She needs to accept that things out of her control ruined her child and the sooner she is rid of it the sooner the healing process can begin. I can only imagine how much she put into planning for a new child and how devastatingly disappointing this birth must have been. As for wishing for death, well, guess you have a point there somewhere but I don't see how that statement connects to my post you quoted. All I did was bluntly state a universal fact. You're right, let's just not make any friends or spend time with family because they're all going to die sooner or later! Bravo, you've cracked the code to life! Give yourself a round of applause. =D> What the hell did you get that from? Not what I was saying. Seriously, read correctly please.
