To piety or not to piety?

Featured Replies

Making a "barrows pure"(71 defence.. =[) and was wondering if I should take it all the way up there or not?

It's up to you.

I got it for minigames, quest monsters and blessing gravestones... whatever your reasons it's a good level to get if you can comfortably afford it.

Thank you to tripsis for an awesome sig!

I'm more worried about PvP effectiveness.

Yeah it's good for that. Especially if you want some KOs

It's very effective to use Piety during PvP. It beats Chivalry (obviously) and believe it or not, the extra percentages in accuracy really help.

Knight Wave is what stops most people.

No, with guthans it's a piece of cake (literally if that's what you used for food like I did).

Guthans is the best option, although Veracs is reasonable too if you can heal yourself some other way (high level food, bunyip, SGS Spec, etc.).

Definately. I can only use chivalry and I love it.

In terms of pvp effectiveness. It will be EXTREMELY effective.

Gained first quest cape on 3/22/09! Gained 99 fishing 5/22/09!

I forgot when I got 99 cooking!

Piety is often a huge boost to have in PVP because it requires both a quest and 70 defense. These are two things with your average PKer are often lacking in. The 25%(I think) boost t defense is the biggest advantage in my eyes. That's half as effective as using one of the protective prayers and noone knows that you're doing it.

Convinced, but sounds like I've got a long ways ahead of me until I'm ready for Knight Wave.

Well that's good news then, thank you :).

sculpin_ipa.png

yeah I just used whip for the whole thing, use the tip it section on it to see which guards reduce which stats and prepare accordingly.

ie if your fighting an attack drainer. everytime he hits you sip a super attack. I remember being slightly worried for it then laughing after at how easy it was =\

I think i wore torags, whip, defender. bring maybe 3 super sets, 1-2 super restores and rest monks and you should be fine I would think

Even when I was only 45 defence, piety was well worth it. Now I'm 75 defence and it's still one of the best decisions I made.
