gohankaiy
This Guide is not written nor is it intended for the average 'scaper. This guide is written specifically for those who want to make smithing experience while not neccesarily being at the keyboard and also making a decent profit on the way. My Name on RS is GohanKaiy. At the time of this guide I have 71 Smithing. I have used this strategy since level 60. As I said this is not in any way, shape, or form the fastest, or most profitable way to gain smithing experience. This guide is meant for those who wish to raise smithing while not having to pay too much attention. I do this usually while on youtube, Chatting on AIM or MSN, or on my Clan Site. TimeLine For Guide 10.23.08 - Wrote the basics 10.24.08 - Pictures, organizing the guide, tabs etc. 10.26.08 - Exp and Profit with Beast Of Burdens. Requirements - Lots and Lots of Steel Bars. - Varrock Armor 1, 2 or 3 (Optional - Guide is written based with it on) - Lvl. 35 Smithing - Cannonball Ammo Mould - Dwarf Cannon Quest Complete Location - Best Places 1. Edgeville (Guide is written based on this location) 2. Port Phasmatys Guide Very Short. Basically all you need to do is have on your Varrock Armor, and start at the edgeville bank. No need to dress light as your run energy should always stay full. You Keep in your inventory Your Cball Ammo Mould. Proceed to withdraw 27 Steel bars from your inventory. Walk to the furnace and click on the door. Then Click any Steel bar > Furnace > All. Then Wait. It takes roughly 165 seconds for all Cballs to be made (108). If you switch screens as soon as you start smelting, you need to make sure you "go active" before you make your 60th Cball. If you don't you will be logged out. To "Go active", merely switch to the Runescape page, and click any of the Directional buttons (Up, Down, Left, Or right). Once you see the screen move, you may go back to doing what you were doing. You only need to "go active" once or twice depending on how late or early you do it. Try doing it roughly every 1min and 15 seconds. The more you use this method the more you will get used to the timing. As I said before this isn't the most profitable, nor is it the fastest smithing experience available. I know I'm not the only 'scaper out there who longs for a smithing cape, and doesn't mind a slow way. Nor am I the only scaper who just doesn't have the time or patience to click things 100 times in 2 minutes. This is a relatively simple (But time-consuming) way to make a decent profit, while also gaining smithing experience. Statistics -Experience per bar made into Cannonball (25.6xp) -Experience per load - (691.2xp) -Approximate time from Edgeville Bank, smithing, and back to bank (180 seconds) -Experience per Hour (13,824xp) -Profit Per Steel Bar (153gp) -Profit per load (At Current Steel Bar/Cannonball prices) (4,131GP) -Profit per Hour (82,620gp) Current Prices as of 8am EST 10.23.08 Steel Bar - 599GP market Price Cannonball - 188GP market Price *Remember for every steel bar you use, you get 4 Cannonballs. Tips - Buy As many steelbars as you can when you do. Why? Well if you buy 10k Steel bars, even if you don't even plan on doing 1k, you're taking 10k steel bars off the market. That will help raise the prices of steel bars. Then if you only convert 2k into cballs and get tired of this method, or have reached your goal, you can sell 8k Steel bars at 1-10 gp More than you bought them for. - Sell The Cballs in bunches. I try not to sell the Cballs until I need to. Why? Because if you're constantly throwing 2k, 5k Cballs, the demand for them declines (Meaning Prices go down). Instead try to sell 100k Cballs, that way you get more for them.

gohankaiy
It Shaves off a few seconds. While the guide isn't written for speed, you also want to do minimum clicking. Regardless I will put the timing for Phasmatys too. It should be more or less 5-10 seconds more.

gohankaiy
Thank you. Well what does Jagex expect you to do while Cball making? Stare at the screen? I do remember reading somewhere that they do not want you "Letting your computer play for you". And that's not what you're doing.

Zimbu
Thank you. Well what does Jagex expect you to do while Cball making? Stare at the screen? I do remember reading somewhere that they do not want you "Letting your computer play for you". And that's not what you're doing. Afk training is against the rules. You can't even take a bathroom break according to Jagex. You can't get through SoS without learning this. You're allowed to browse forums and visit YouTube, however, as you're not leaving your computer. (It's called multitasking instead of afk.) Personally I don't have a problem with the guide or the title. The mods on tip.it can be pretty strict when it comes to these things, though. If one of them locks/removes your guide, just paste it on Word and change all the afk's into "multitasking friendly" or something and PM that said mod to get your guide back on the forums. Zaaps1
Cballs....aren't that great. Iron bars or Gold Bars are better. what would you do with iron bars/ goldbars? Sell the iron bars unless you want to make them into nails and sell those for xp. Forget if that's better than smelting iron bars but I think it is. With the gold bars you make them into bracelets then alch them for free crafting and magic xp, paying only for the smithing xp. And of course you can always sell both as materials in the GE. In addition, both are better xp and money than cballs (except gold, which is way better xp at a loss). ~It's Super Effective!
