I loved Ember to Inferno, enjoyed Ascendancy a lot, but thought The Crusade was mindless drivel.

 

 

 

At first I thought Shogun was no more than a ill-fated ploy of cashing in on Heafy's part-Japanese heritage. After I heard the screams were coming back my interest was piqued.

 

 

 

I've listened to a few tracks and will probably end up buying it, a solid-if pedestrian, release.

Overcome By All That Remains is the best album this year imo. Not much of a trivium fan tbh :?

TBH there older albums were so much album, this just sounds extremely bad with a person screaming like a pig. I would rather listen to Bring Me The Horizon.

 

 

 

Dying in your arms will always be my favourite album by Trivium, now there just... boring.

Overcome By All That Remains is the best album this year imo. Not much of a trivium fan tbh :?

 

Ah another ATR fan! Good to know that i'm not the only one here. Overcome was probably the best release imo. Trivium seems to be going down hill, they need to get back to the way they used to sound. Shogun was a decent album at best.

 

 

 

And GNR will never be "great" again :cry:

Trivium arn't going downhill, i think Ascendancy was their best, but they lost it with The Crusade.

 

Shogun has brought back elements from Ascendancy and The Crusade and is bringing them back to the top.

Chiron was the only good song on Overcome imo. Everything else was just bad, probably due to the new producer. The new drummer isn't as interesting as their last one. Also, the effects on Phil's voice is horrible. He never gets any of the power in his growls that he sometimes had on The Fall of Ideals. The guitar riffs all sound samey too, but that's too be expected from them. I think the album easily classifies as a dud.

 

 

 

Scream Aim Fire was probably the worst thing I've heard this year. Matt Tuck's vocals somehow got even worse, the rest of the band still is incredibly boring as well, and almost all of the songs sound like bad Metallica B-sides.
