  1. I use uTorrent, and to enable the encryption Options>Preferences>BitTorrent>Protocol Encyption>Outgoing [Enabled]
  2. I also cannot play Runescape HD in Windows 7. Java is dodgy for me, and even on low detail it's jumpy. I'm using a XFX 8600GTS with 2Gb of RAM and Pentium D 830 (@3GHz)
  3. You might also try http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ if you still have the keylogger. And ya, dump Mcafee. There are tons of better (and free) alternatives available.
  4. A model number of the computer or something along those lines would help. An orange board with an orange fan is a rather broad statement
  5. I got the beta and LOVE it. I have tried Vista and couldn't stand it, but all the things that annoyed me about Vista are fixed in Windows 7 (unless Microsoft screw it up, don't rule it out  ) It also runs very fast on my computer. And ya, you need to download it via Internet Explorer. Mozilla won't work :wall:
  6. There is no damned reason. Someone else has a faster connection to the server than you or they clicked before you, that's all there is to it. I have to second that, It's all about latency and this is one of the lamest discussions (Subject) I've ever seen on Tip.it. I third that...And any "proof" or "evidence" isn't reliable. How do you know that the other people aren't clicking after you and/or have a slower internet. Please don't get angry when people come and tell you that your theory is incorrect when they know more about the subject.
  7. Probably a legality issue with pirated music. And imo it's better to use USB than stream. Streaming can add a little lag to your connection, which is fine unless your playing on XBL
  8. Yes, you can simply go to this link and update (to WMP11) as long as you have a valid XP install http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/11/default.aspx And sorry, never used that brand of mp3 player
  9. My Razer Diamondback lasted about 6 months of heavy use (WoW lol). I wouldn't recommend them unless their quality has improved, which it very well might have. Hm, interesting. A friend has a Razer (dunno which model) for her mac, which she's used a couple of years... And she plays UT, D2 etc... Haven't heard of a breakdown. Anyways, i have a Saitek... Good options for the low price (tho my model isn't produced anymore). I quite possibly just had one with a defect. And I also recommend Saitek, never had any issues with their products. Had one of their keyboards till a glass of water trashed it(it was probably ~3 glass of water it had taken) :wall:
  10. Lol @ Windows firewall... Zonealarm for firewall AVG for antivirus Adaware for antispyware Thats my setup for this pc (gaming rig) and is all free. And you can get malware without clicking ads
  11. My Razer Diamondback lasted about 6 months of heavy use (WoW lol). I wouldn't recommend them unless their quality has improved, which it very well might have.
  12. Broad bolts are about the best to train with imo. Best cost/damage I believe
  13. And make sure you play on a server from your country (if possible), I noticed much more lag when playing on foreign servers.
  14. The sheer amount of randoms we have at the moment would conflict with this idea. You would probably die before it ticked to ten minutes. :?
  15. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104076 $46.99 with free shipping. It's well worth going a little over your proposed budget. You won't regret it.
  16. Were you wanting another trackball or a normal mouse?
  17. Edit: In Internet Explorer, go to Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab>Scroll down till you see Java (Sun), make sure there is a checkmark for Use JRE x.x.x_xx for (requires restart)> click apply, then ok>Try runescape Using the above I was able to recreate the error you were getting in Internet Explorer with it saying Java not installed, and rechecking it fixed it. That was done under XP though so the process might be slightly different for Vista (sorry don't have access to a Vista computer)
  18. He is referring to the amount lost per cooked fish. Raw -> Cooking Lobsters looses 46 gp, Raw ->Cooked Swordfish looses 48 each
  19. You might try installing another browser and see if it works. If that doesn't work, I would try a complete reinstall of Java (completely removing every trace of it), several tutorials on google. Simply search "completely uninstalling java vista" or something like that. And make sure the tutorial you choose to follow is for Vista.
  20. You might try uninstalling the drivers and software that came with it and getting updated versions from Maxtor. 7/1/2001 is a little old  Also try it on another computer to see if the problem persists
  21. Posting this is like preaching to the choir \ A majority of the users on this forums probably use third party browsers. And no, I haven't been affected by this. Haven't used IE on any computer of mine in years. I do gotta warn my family though #-o
  22. Did you attempt to use Windows Defender? And the second link I posted was a little tutorial so you can familiarize yourself with basic Windows Registry usage. ~And thrash-boy, that is basically the same tutorial as laura posted above. The link to their software download is a free version that only detects spyware/malware, but won't remove it (sure does you a lot of good #-o tells you it's there but does nothing about it,advertising at its best) Here's some links to free programs you might try to get rid of your problem http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/defender/default.mspx Windows Defender http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-2008/3000-8022_4-10045910.html?tag=mncol Adaware 2008 http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-amp-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10122137.html?tag=mncol Spybot S&D Do you mean just Iambigbrother or the Windows Admin? I think Sloter was referring to the admin account for Windows(might be wrong, mind reading isn't my forte)
  23. Yeah don't set anything in stone quite yet. The computer industry can change a TON in 5 months (Such as I built this computer a couple months before Core 2 Duos were released, all my parts were rendered obsolete :wall: )
  24. First off, can't you ask your mom to uninstall it? And don't purchase a $30 program to get rid of one thing when there are many many free alternatives such as Lavasoft's Adaware, AVG antivirus, or Spybot S&D As laura posted http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-iambigbrother.html should tell you how to manually get rid of it. It also states under "Other programs to remove IamBigBrother:" that Windows Defender(it provides a direct link to the download) will remove it for you. If you want to remove it manually, follow the instructions for what files and registry entries to delete on the link above^^. And follow this guide http://www.2-spyware.com/news/post226.html for learning registry basics. Just remember to backup the registry, double check the names of the entries before changing them, and always always always know what EXACTLY the entry is you are looking for (don't "surf" the registry, bad stuff can happen with the press of a key) Play it safe and you can get your computer free =D>
  25. Ya sounds like this is your first build (correct me if I'm wrong) Overclocking and watercooling is definitely not for the beginner computer geek or the faint of heart : And is it really necessary to overclock an i7 extreme when it will already eat anything your throw at it and ask for more?
