This is also on the official RuneScape forum.

Quick Find:80-81-977-57842745

Post even if all quests are not done.

What this is and why...

[hide=]This is an idea for a new quest series.

Camelot has the Merlin series,

Varrock has Defender of Varrock,

Ardougne and the Elven lands have Plague City,

But what does Falador, one of the strongest cities have?

NOTHING!

So I decided they should get their fair share of quests...

And F2P Even get a small taste with the first of the series[/hide]

First Quest

[hide=]Quest: Assault on Falador

Available: F2P and P2P

Difficulty: Medium

Length : Medium

Quests Needed: Dragon Slayer, The Knight's Sword

Skills Needed : 40 Attack, 40 Strength, 40 Defense

20 Smithing

Required items: Rune Platebody and Platelegs, Rune Scimitar.

Details:

You start by talking to Sir Amik Varze.

He will tell you of a rumor he has heard of an attack coming on Falador.

He will tell you that there is a Varrock Spy behind the west bank.

Go there and there will be a Varrock Spy.

Talk to him and he will tell you he was sent by King Roald to scout out Falador's defenses.

When you talk to Sir Amik Varze again he will be frustrated.

Someone has blown up a portion of Falador's walls. You will need to get an Iron bar, and smith it into "Wall Piece" (Only available during quest). Take it south of the mysterious runes to the north and use your hammer and 2 Soft Clays to fix the gaping hole.

Report back to Sir Amik, and he will tell you to prepare for battle. You need to have the items mentioned in the required items equipped before talking to him again.

Once you do, he will teleport you to the area north of Falador. (You are NOT in the same "dimension" as other players. Nobody shows up and you are pulled back if you venture away.) There will be about 20 Varrock Guards (Level 25), 15 Varrock Rangers (Level 24), and 10 Slave Giants (Level 40). There will also be 30 White Knights. They all respawn. Sir Amik Varze will fight behind the Knights, as a commander, as King Roald (Level 55) will follow the Varrock army. The White Knight Army and Varrock Army will appear to fight, but neither will cause any damage to each other. Once you have killed 5 of each, You must face Roald. He will use melee and hit a max hit of 9. He has 75 hp. Once he gets down to 1, he will surrender (You can't kill him). You will talk to Amik Varze, who will give you a treaty. You have Roald sign it.

*Cutscene*Just as he does, the Slave Giants will break loose. The White Knights and Varrock Army team up to kill 8 of them, but two of them grab a Dark Wizard that dashes across the screen. They combine and form a Level 132 Morphed Giant. You cannot fight the Giant just yet. The armies try to fight it, but keep dieing (and respawning nearby).

*cutscene ends*

You run up to the mountain to the dwarf camp. There is a large boulder on the tip near the Giant. Talk to any dwarf in the camp, and he will hand you a "wedge". Use the wedge on the boulder, and with your Level 40 strength, you flip the boulder down, hurting the giant.

Run back down, and the giant will have about 80 hp left. You must kill him. Once you do, you go to the gate entrance to Falador. Sir Amik Varze hand you a Healing Draught. When you drink it, the screen turns black for a moment (You now return to regular dimension).

Sir Amik will talk to you and thank you for saving the towns. He then gives you your reward.

Reward:

2 Quest Points

2500 Attack Exp

2500 Strength Exp

2500 Defense Exp

500 Smithing Exp

Amulet of Peace (A blue amulet, non tradeable. 5 teleports to each of Varrock and Falador. Rechargeable by Sir Amik Varze for 35k)

10,000 coins[/hide]

Second Quest:

[hide=]I know its short and stupid but it sets up later actions, plus opens a store run by Sir Grint.

Quest: Gaining Glory

Available: P2P only

Difficulty: Easy-Medium

Length : Short

Quests Needed: Assault on Falador, Rune Mysteries

Skills Needed: 25 Fishing, 30 Cooking, 45 Mining, 45 Smithing (Can be assisted)

Required items: Rune Pickaxe, 3 Cosmic Runes, 12 Death Runes, Large Net

Details:

Start by talking to Sir Grint (New NPC walks around White Knight Castle).

He will tell you that Falador is losing tons of wealth ever since the Grand Exchange.

He needs you to go and help gain back some wealth with some never before seen items!

He tells you first to bring him a rune pickaxe.

He will enchant it to be an Enchanted Rune Pickaxe.

It becomes un-tradeable and remains enchanted permanently.

He tells you to go mine pure essence with it.

When you go to, instead of Pure Essence, you get Essence Rocks and Pure Essence mixed.

Take 5 Essence Rocks back to him.

Now he needs you to craft him a platinum ring and enchant it. Take your enchanted pickaxe to one of the Mining Guild Doormen. They will teleport you to the Platinum Plateau.

It contains 5 Platinum Rocks and one cut Aquamarine Gem spawn (one per 10 minutes).

Mine 2 Platinum Rocks. Enter the portal.

Take the ores to Grint. He will tell you to smelt them in the furnace with a ring mould that he gives you.

Smelt these together to get Unfinished Ring(p).

Give him 3 Cosmic and 12 Deaths.

He makes Ring of Death.

He tells you he needs 5 cooked Giffie Fish.

Use a large net next to the bridge into White Knight Castle on new fishing spot. You will catch a Giffie.

Cook the giffies on a range and take them to Sir Grint.

He will give you your reward.

Over powered rewards, you know it isn't even possible to have over 2.something billion coins at once?

If you intend to make part of this f2p, make the enchant pick a reward after the first quest. That would give a big boost to rc.

EDIT: Btw Falador does have the Temple Knight series, perhaps add on to that?

some of the new items that keeps everything in your inventory is a little overpowered. think of the pkers. they will go around with that and the best armor and weapon they can get. Also, the pure essence rock, worth 5 pure essence each? people will be able to make too much money by this if you can enchant the pick axe for free after two (imo) somewhat easy quests.

Just a few things to be fixed but after that it should be good ::'

  • Author

Okay. I read both of your posts.

The rewards, I will admit, are over powered and over priced.

BUT!

You understand why the prices are so high?

These are the best items in the game pretty much.

If they cost as much as Party Hats,

The thousands that have them would sell them and buy these.

Would you rather have a few super rich people wielding these,

or an armada of people?

Price can easily be fixed by...

Some changes to the game :

Ability to carry 50 billion at a time.

That solves that.

As for PK'ers having all that power...

How many of them honestly have the patience to get 30 billion?

I don't think any.

Also, The third quest will be along the difficulty of Underground Pass, which was pretty hard for me at least.

I'm adding that you need to have beaten ALL 3 quests before buying those items, or getting the enchant.

Thanks, Tell me that you think now...

"what pker will have the patience to earn 30mil"

the pkers dont need patience. thy do what they do best...PK.

they will just go pking, getting drops and raising stats until they have enough to buy the thing that keeps everything in your inventory.

BTW phats are worth more then 45mil

Phats are useless in game and are for showing off. People who currently have a phat will sell them. After the money finally comes in, they will use it to buy all the quest items. That way, they can show off AND make money by pking.

Jagex did not decide the limit. That's the stack limit that Java can hold.

  • Author

Oh.

I Didn't know about the Java Limit.

Hmmm.....

Um...

What IS Java's limit?

2 Billion?

Maybe make it so you get another stack once you've completed 1 like in classic? And make the cost slightly cheaper as well.

EDIT: I'm gonna edit in my responce when I have time.

EDIT2: Yes, java's limit is a little over 2 billion I think.

Hmm, the quests sounds interesting, I'll wait for the third one to come up first though.

Better idea:

First tone them down a bit, second make "Tokens", 1 Token can be exchange for 10k/100k, whatever you decide.

  • Author

Got it!

New item for coinage.

You get them, like it auto switches in the bank.

You get regular coins, but once it hits 1mil from now on,

you get a Gold Token.

It's worth 1 mil.

You can hold up to 1mil gold tokens without any other coinage, equaling a new max of

ONE TRILLION COINS!!!

REally tired right now, but I'll add this to the main guide later.

look look look. The rewards are uber overpowered. The necklace of immortality, can you say never die please? ring of death, even if you did die with immortality necklace on, doesn't mean anything! Amulet of gods "wee I can 96 with an armadyl godsword spec! super duper KO!" Plus, from the context, im guessing you want this for F2p. This would NEVER happen for F2p. Heck, This would never happen to P2P! If you take out the super-powered items, everything seems fine. Im sorry to be so flame-y, but this would ruin RS.

i think 45billion is a bit much :| , maybe make it in the millions not the billions and i also think the jewellry is a little overpowered maybe change it a little e.g.

bracelet should only heal you like 80% of damage not 200%

other than that i support

sword2di2.jpg

thanks to mitsubishi64 who made this sig

I can see you don't really understand what really happens at higher levels... most of the cash spent on expensive items is money wasted...

God swords cost 60m for armadyll... doesn't help much when dd++ gives possibly more dmg per second...

And that for a whopping 59.96m less price!

Can you see the problem here?

Something costing 50b (which is impossible, an integer value (like what java uses) only goes up to 2.14bill...) would not be worth nearly that much... and please note, that some of the most rich players in runescape don't even have level 30... they just skilled their runecrafting to level 96...

So you would want a level 30 owning lvl 138's?

I didn't think so...

Just close this thread and get that ridiculous picture out of you sig #-o not to be rude or anything...

no quests in falador? what about the white knights series? that's like... 4 quests?

also the rewards are overpowered: hitting a 70-70 spec with dds? and they cost kinda... way to much 45 Bill? that one made me kinda rofl.

It would be cool if there was a minigame available after the first quest that lets you have something like 20 other players on your team and you had to defend falador for like 20 minutes or something.

you mean a different castle wars arena?
