November 2, 200817 yr Hero of Gielinor quest O hai der! So, here's yet another suggestion by me! \ Rules are same as TIF's rules. I take anything as 'good idea', or similar, as support. Summary: A villager of Falador tells you about the problem of a dragon. He isn't powerful enough to slay him, but he knows a way to slay him. Can you make the Ancient Blade, and slay the dragon with its powers? Information: Startpoint: A little house in Falador. To start: Talk to Aedyn inside a house. Required: Quests: Dragon Slayer, Heroes Quest, Legends Quest, Knight's Sword, Eagles' Peak, Swept Away, Watchtower Quest. Skills: 70 attack, 70 strength, 42 herblore, 66 magic, 51 smithing, 50 runecrafting. Items: Vial, Pestle and Mortar, 2 steel bars, hammer, 6 cosmic runes, 30 fire runes, any hatchet, 875 coins. Suggested: Quests: Fairytale Pt II (started). Skills: 70 mining. Items: Anti-dragon shield/Dragonfire shield, good armor, good food, potions if needed, Falador teleport runes, Dramen/Lunar staff, Amulet of Glory. 1. The problem Items required: None. Items suggested: Falador teleport runes. Talk to Aedyn. He tells you that a mighty dragon is terrorising the city. It destroys houses, burns trees, and kills villagers. The dragon gives nothing but problems to Gielinor. Someone has to kill the dragon, to give Gielinor its freedom back! He mentions that he tried to slay it several times, with all combat styles, but nothing helped. This is a special dragon, one that's not killed that easily. Aedyn suggests you make a special blade, enchant it, and pour some extremely strong weapon poison on the blade. It doesn't work with another blade, though. 2. The blade Items required: None. Items suggested: Good armor, good food, Dramen/Lunar staff. You will need to smith the blade at an anvil, but you don't know how to yet. Go to Thurgo, the Imcando dwarf. Ask him to teach you about the blade. He says he is familiar with it, as another human asked him to make it a few years ago. He calls it the Ancient Blade. Thurgo forgot how the blade looks like, so you need to bring the blade to Thurgo. But, the dwarf remembers the name of the human. He is called Arick. He can be found in the Taverley dungeon, at the black dragons. If you ask him for his blade, he doesn't trust you, even if you say it is emergency. He suggests he shows it to Thurgo. Arick is out of food, so you have to escort him to the entrance of the cave. If he gets below 10% of its hitpoints, he will run back to the safe place at the black dragons. Once at Thurgo, he will show the blade. Thurgo remembers how to make it, and gives you a blueprint of the blade. Go to any anvil and make the blade, with the blueprint in your inventory. The blade has +48 slash bonus and +36 stab bonus now. 3. The weapon poison Items required: Vial, Pestle and Mortar. Items suggested: Good food, Amulet of Glory. Now you'll need to get the ingredients of the potion. Go to the Eagles' Peak, and ask Nickolaus if he has any Eagle weed. He will give you some. Then, go to the wilderness, to the Frozen Wasteland, and pick some Icicle berries from a bush. Use the berries on the Pestle and Mortar to receive Ground Icicle Berries. Use that and the Eagle weed with the vial, to make the potion. Use it on the blade. The blade has +72 slash bonus and +54 stab bonus now. 4. The enchantment Items required: 6 cosmic runes, 30 fire runes. Items suggested: Ardougne teleport runes, Watchtower teleport runes, Amulet of Glory. Go to the wizard's tower, and ask Wizard Traiborn if he can enchant the blade for you. He will only do this, if you bring him some goulash, because he is hungry. Go to Maggie, and ask for another portion of goulash. She will give you one. If you lose it, you can get another one. But, it can be drunk by wizards only, as Maggie has put something in the goulash that isn't tasty to ones that are not able to control the magic in the runes good enough. Bring the goulash to Traiborn, and he will say he isn't powerful enough alone. He will need 5 other wizards, one of them is you. The wizards needed for the spell are: - The wizard from the Watchtower quest. - Wizard Cromperty in Ardougne. - Wizard Distentor in the Magician's Guild. - Wizard Korvak in the Runecrafting Guild. Once you have let them all come to Wizard Traiborn's room, give each of them 1 cosmic and 5 fire runes. Then, you and the other wizards will do a powerful spell, which enchants the blade. It is so powerful, that it decreases your magic level to 1. The blade has +96 slash bonus, +82 stab bonus and +9 magic attack bonus now, it is powerful enough to kill the dragon. It looks good, it is long, has a sharp point... it is a dream for each longsword lover! 5. Slaying the dragon Items needed: Ancient Blade, hammer Items suggested: Anti-dragon/Dragonfire shield, good food, good armor, prayer potions, super set. Go back to Aedyn, and tell him you are ready. He will give you the location of the dragon's habitat. It is at the most southern point of the Brimhaven dungeon. Enter the cave entrance to come into the dragon's lair. The dragon is level 432. It can hit up to 38 with its melee attacks, so it is strongly recommended to use the Protect from Melee prayer. Also, there are invisible geysers in the cave. A geyser may appear under you, and the magma could hit up to 40! It counts as a magic attack. If you have to deliver the final hit, it has to be a stab attack. You will stab the blade deep into the chest of the dragon, giving the poison full effect. The poison stays into the dragon's body, and the poison on the blade will be gone. The blade has blood on the point now. If it is poisoned, it will stamp and use dragonfire. Quickly use your hammer on one of the walls, and run out. The cave will collapse. Go back to Aedyn and tell him you slayed the dragon. He is very grateful, and gives you the rewards. Rewards: - Ancient Blade, which has +96 slash bonus, +82 stab bonus and +9 magic attack bonus. It hits 15% harder on dragons (Note: If the user wields Dragonslayer Gloves or a Slayer Mask, you will not hit like 25%, 30% or even 40% higher, but just 10% or 15% higher). Also, it is untradeable. If you lose it, there will be a new spawn at the cave entrance of the dragon you slew. It also has a special attack: Defiling Stab, negates any armor and prayer. - 5% discount at all 'normal' shops (rune shops, archery shops, general stores etc). - 15000 Attack, strength and defence exp, 4200 herblore exp, 6600 magic exp, 5100 smithing exp and 5000 runecrafting exp. - If you have 70 mining, you can clear the rocks that fell on the dragon. You will find a Dragon Amulet. It makes all dragons unagressive, and makes dragon item drops more common. - There will be several destroyed houses scattered around Gielinor. Small houses require 30 construction to repair, and the reward is 5k - 15k cash. Medium houses require 60 construction to repair, and the reward is 25k - 50k cash. Large houses require 90 construction to repair, and the reward is 75k - 100k cash. - Local farmers could ask you to plant a new tree on the spot of the burned trees. Raise a tree in a plant pot, place it into the 'tree spot', and you will receive a high-level seed for each tree you farm. The trees are all Oak, Willow, Yew or Magic trees. After you planted them, you can also cut them as much as you want. [hide=Supporters]Support count: 1 Longest streak without nonsupport: 1 1. Nytestryke24 2. Jenove 3. who_am_i 4. November 2, 200817 yr The quest seems ok, but I see a bad part in it: - No more chance of the dragon burning trees. What does that mean? In the beginning, yes, it does mention it burning trees, but nowhere else. Care to elaborate what it means by: No more chance of the dragon burning trees? And, something I feel compelled to say, in the goulash part, where it talks about Maggie putting a spice in it that humans don't like, I want to say the Wizards ARE humans, just humans that are able to control the magic in the runes. :P.

November 3, 200817 yr hmm did you compare the blade to other weapons that we have now ( whip and etc?) we don't want it overpowered or anything.everything seems pretty balanced. (like most of your suggestions). also the amulet of dragons. you say it increases drops of dragon armor. Is this in addition to the Ring of wealth? ( considering most dragon drops count as 'rare?'

Yeah I have compared them with the whip, barrelchest anchor etc. It is weaker as the Barrelchest Anchor, but stronger as the whip. It is an addition to the Ring of Wealth, too. November 9, 200817 yr Support ;) Nice idea. (just as long as I can do the quest too! : ) [hide=Stats][109 combat with Summoning ;)][/hide]
November 11, 200817 yr the only problem I have is the overpowered "10% off everything at stores!" reward. I can kill a level 456 dragon easily enough, even with my horrid melee skills. I would take that off. Also, the 15% bonus on the sword, would that stack with dragon slayer gloves and/or a black mask? Because, erm +15%+15%+10% attack makes really, really fast kills, even on miths. Like, two seconds, bam! he's gone. other then that, I support My skin is finally getting softI'll scrub until the damn thing comes off

November 15, 200817 yr Support, sounds nice. I would have bumped your topic on RSOF too, but there's a problem with a WBM's faulted, wrongly added offense on my account: I'm no longer muted in-game, but it says I am in the Appeal Offences and Forums, so I can not access RSOF. :( Master of Attack ~ August 29th, 2010Proud to have served the awesome Tip.It Crew <3
