How about adding a new edge to crossbows?

Featured Replies

When i looked at an earlier post about adding a new dragon crossbow, i realised that all crossbows except karil's in the game are 1-handed.

Next i thought that why not make other 2-handed crossbows, so i began developing the idea.

This is what i came up with:

-They would be called large crossbows

-They will, of course be slower, maybe hit twice for every five normal crossbow shots

-They will hit about 2x harder

-They will be about 1.5x more accurate

-You could buy a visage and attach it to the large crossbow to unlock a new style of shooting, sniping. This will be 2.5x as slow as the normal shot with a large crossbow, but will have an almost guaranteed hit. The crossbow will now be Large Crossbow(a) ('a' standing for accurate)

- the large crossbow will use large crossbow bolts instead of normal ones

Next i thought, why, i could also add repeating crossbows

They could be like this:

- You could upgrade a crossbow to a repeating crossbow by first getting a repeat mechanism. This can be done either by crafting it with 85 crafting (90 for a small mechanism) from yew logs and 1 steel bar and then anchanting it with 75 magic using, or by buying it with 2.5m coins (3m for a small mechanism) from a ranged related person (someone like the ranged tutor or the archer near draynor and wizard tower?), havent decided it yet; and then attaching the repeat mechanism onto the crossbow (a normal mechanism will fit a large crossbow, a small mech. would fit a normal crossbow) using another skill of high level, maybe fletching.

- The finished crossbow would hit twice as fast, but would be 30% less accurate. The damage will not be affected.

- To limit the effectiveness of the repeating crossbow, the mechanism will run out of charges after 1000 uses, and then it will have to be recharged in the same way as before

-You could also de-attach the mechanism if you needed to save bolts or charges, be more accurate etc.

Thanks for reading this. Please reply either showing support, constructive criticism, corrections or questions about anything left unclear to you

Flaming, spamming and all other forms of non-important posts will be dealt with accordingly.

Feel free to help develop the idea. Especially designs for the new items and cmopleted numbers for ratios between normal crossbows and large repeating crossbows with visages, no visages etc. will be appreciated.

Karil's crossbow.

Three months banishment to 9gag is something i would never wish upon anybody, not even my worst enemy.

also repeater crossbows are pretty much karils and hunter crossbows.

This looks like a good idea to me. Although make it so you can turn the repeating mechanism off incase you don't wan't to use it, or are saving the charges.

It's great you know what you're talking about rustiod. Everything you've said is 100% accurate a true.

That being said...your a [bleep]ing [bleep] douchebag, and none of your advice will ever (or should ever) be taken seriously because of it.

disregard good advice because the giver is a douche

THAT MAKES YOU A BETTER PERSON

Crossbows were a new edge to ranging. And 2x slower but 2,5x faster and 1,5x more accurate = this new crossbow is 1,875 times more efficient = OVERPOWERED = fail suggestion.

My goals:
5M coins: 4350K+ coins 200k+ items - 2 dec
5M coins - 16 dec
I have gotten my 5M by christmas.

-bah this is only here for historical purposes now, I got 20m+ already

"fail, well atleast the title,i wont read it with that colours"

"If you hadn't posted in rainbow I would actually give this a proper read"

"Colours suck."

*I remove colours*

"Where did all the colors go!? This is now 40% more likely to be tl;dr'd due to the lack of colors."

I like the general concept but the numbers may need to be tweaked a bit lest the item become overpowered.

numbers altered:

-large crossbow will hit twice for every five normal crossbow shots

-it will also hit 2x as hard instead of 2.5x

-sniping increased to 2.5x slower instead of 2x

-repeat mechanism accuracy distortion raised to 30% instead of 20%

Sounds like a good idea but i don't like the idea that the repeater only conatins 1,000 charges mabye there could be more charges or not have top be charged at all.
