CampbellMC
Smelt Iron Ores into bars with rings of forging, actually makes money. Alternatively you could make cannonballs which also makes money.

CampbellMC
You can't really complain about speed at that low of a level.
kdb148
Smithing is generally slow to level, but at 44, you should just go mine some iron and coal, smelt into steel, and smith into the highest thing you can make. Alch what you make. Check out this cool browser gladiator game!
sir_bubbabob
I'd go for the smelting iron ores with a ring of forging, then smith them into iron knives. You should probably make a small profit. If you have started the Varrock achievement diaries you can wear your Varrock Archievement Armor and then smelt at Edgeville and smith in Varrock to save more time. ladycai
You'll lose massive money doing steel plates or something like that ... you're better off smelting bars. 95/99 Summoning95/99 Slayer [hide=This is what you look like when you play RS too long][/hide]
