Consideration about ripping.

I don't think I would endorse another closed-door group. As nadril said we already tried that.

But I wouldn't mind a sub forum where no sig related topics were allowed. I just don't know that there would be sufficient interest to merit it. You don't really have to screen people for talent. You simply have a place where sigs cannot be discussed. That way clear out 90 percent of the topics such as

a. how do you make sigs?

b. what program do you use to make sigs?

c. first pixel sig

d. Frist ever sig

e. Rate my sig

f. Do you think these sigs are worth money?

g. who is the best/worst/biggest trash talking sig maker?

h. pixel sig practice...pixel linework practice...pixel sig tutorial (not that you can't have larger pixel works, you can but most of these topics are not like that).

You get the idea. I think a sub forum, open to all, but with strict rules of NO SIG discussion would be great. But do the folks who run theboards see a need for it? Do the artists here see a need for it? I don't know that.

sorry to post again, but you posted when I did so I missed this. I agree that that for anyone on the outside this wouldn't seem like a big deal. They got rid of the sig selling so we should be happy. You really would need a sub forum though because even if we get some real work in here there will still be people who have to ask stupid questions or get their sigs rated. They need a place for that. I'm all up for competitions and real art posts, but we'd have to start filtering to accomplish anything.

Agreed Ryan...we may be old crotchety whiners, but we REALLY WANT that sub-forum!

It would weed out most of the siggy questions.

Wyrmy...I assume you are still reading this....how likely is that possibility? It wouldn't actually require any moving of topics as we could simply start it new.

Incidentally....do you really think the people at something leet are that good? lol.

The usual reason I hear that peole don't like that one is that they flame constantly.

sorry but i dont get whats wrong the pixel sig tutorials, atleast tho mine teaches the basics of it (if you read it instead of following the dm pictures) depth... lineart.. etc, and the people are free to do bigger works following the tutorial or reading it and going around it.

i dont really think the tutorials and things to help people should be on that list there less common then the big abstract/brushing etc. works.

%dont take it as a rant

Just pm a mod for a own usergroup/sub forum.

I've been following this topic quietly for a while now, and am fully behind the idea of a large media only board. If you look at the front page (or any other page) in media discussion, it is mostly sigs. With so many people posting their first sig or any other form of sig, any topics featuring larger and more serious forms of art are dropped down to the next page and usually aren't brought up again. When there is actually discussion about art, its great..but doesn't last. I guess all I'm saying is, please create a new sub forum for all non-sig related art..it would really help to seperate the people looking for money, and those who just love art.

Actually, making the media board a non-sig board and having the sig market a simply everything sig's board was discussed when we made it; it was pushed heavily by me, in fact. However it was deemed that it would work better in the overall scheme of things to go with the system we have now..

I doubt a sub-forum would happen. But we may re-appraise the organization of the 2 media boards.

Any new action been taken? And I still see tons of sigs being bought and sold in media market that have copyrighted images..I really wish there was something we could do. It's very frustrating.

I mean what if someone for some odd reason is good enough hear to make models or paint characters themselves and put them into sigs. These should sell for millions, but they woudlnt' because everyone else could just rip a character and it'd be the same.
