Please tell me, Why do some players want to have 1 defence??

Pures own.

They're like 10 times more fun to play and down higher levels easily.

In pking they destroy.

Even in safe pvp they're fun. Because of the high hp they more often then not spec out defence newbs before they can be killed.

And downing barrows armour while wearing robes...I don't think there's a greater source of fun in runescape.

In lower level pking, pures will just run from a person with over 40 defense, meaning you will get no decent fights, and because of low stats, you won't be able to KO while they run.

Also, magic can hit through defense with realive ease, before i got defense, with ancients i could take on people with upwards of 50 defence (couldn't really get much more at level 55) with magic.

O.O

Be careful - define lower level, and most of the running I see/do is due to 40+ deffers safing to the extreme.

I will not stand and fight a main who safes - as the few times I have, they run away as to not lose their precious rune.

I have killed more 40+ deffers than those who have killed me. I am a 1 def, 1 pray pure with 82 str, 82 range. Pures own those of the same levels up until the level 70 mark, then the rune pures begin to dominate.

btw - this is all from a F2P perspective. P2P pures are a completely different kettle of fish - most have prayer, varying from 11-52, many have 20 def pffft, and the barrage/claw rushers spank the pants off all who stands before them at low levels.

I'm talking p2p perspective.

P2p getting 40 defense gives access to some pretty cool things compared to f2p.

O.O

for the ownage...no1 in armor at my level can own me...no1

besides ppl think low def gets u k03d...uh...u can just eat...yea...too bad u can eat...LOL

range > def...and for those of u def noobs who think mage is unfair...thats ur problem...

And to your left, students, you'll see the aptly named "Purus Ignoramus"

Note the frothed mouth, cheese-doodle encrusted fingers, young age (Aged close to a decade), constant sense of self satisfaction, and complete disregard for the English language. It was believed that the earliest translators of our Germanic language turn in their graves every time the Purus Ignoramus speaks. Granted, whether or not there is any truth to this likely theory, is yet to be seen.

Does anyone know the best method of defense against the Purus Ignoramus? Anyone? Nobody? Yes, Beatrice. The best defense is to simply use a three syllable word, wait for the confusion and fear to settle in, and continue on your way. Another method is to spell "you" correctly.

 +1, very true.
