What is a good balance of monkfish, prayer, range, and anti fire pots for mithril dragons around my levels using unicorns? I use ruby bolts for half the kill and switch to diamond, by the way, but I haven't been back since I was using bunyips with range and defense a bit lower, and I don't want to go and have to drop food for drops or run out of potions early, etc.

is it worth using unicorns? presuming you pick up the mith bars, where the most of the money comes from, you'll be killing like 5 max per trip, it's right next to a tele so no point staying as long as possible, yes sometimes you have to drop food and repick and it's annoying, but surely thats just a waste?

As said above, it's not really worth taking a unicorn. A BoB and an inv of sharks will be cheaper, and you can then take all drops incl mith bars, only takes a few seconds to bank.

It's not possible to take bobs unless you use the trick via logs and run all the way back up the waterfall, and if you use sharks, you'll have to drop/waste food to make space for drops.

 

 

 

Pony scrolls are more hp/gp than monks(if you buy them but I have thousands from my formerly huge green charm stack), and not having the monks in your inventory gives you the opportunity to pick up more drops.

 

 

 

Let's say a trip lasts 43 minutes(random time I've never actually checked how long they last), in that time a pony could heal you 896 hp with 64 scrolls at the cost of 14,336 gp for the scrolls and 2,089 gp for the pouch, totalling 16,425 gp. 896 hp would require 56 monkfish(so not possible in two trips) at the cost of 18,536 gp. So unicorns are more efficient costwise if the trip lasts longer than somewhere around 36 minutes, but again I don't know how long trips last...

 

 

 

Maybe I missed something, but ponies *seem* to be better, could be some messed up calculations or whatever.

Verac Set

 

Very fast kills but little kills per trip. Max recorded kill:6

 

 

 

Usual melee with magic defensive

 

Max kill:14 with unicorn

 

 

Ranged

 

14-16 with unicorn.

 

 

 

Unicorn wins.

Unicorn isn't great at these as you ideally want to be able to keep the mithril bars and bones.

 

 

 

Using a War Tortoise/Pack Yak makes more sense as you will have room for the loot. Someone said they managed 14 kills. Thats 14 bones and 42 bars, lots of profit you really don't want to be throwing away.

 

 

 

When I go (only for slayer) I manage about 8, but I only use whip/shield.

You have to factor in how many mith bars you would have to leave behind and how many bones you would have to bury if you use a unicorn. A BoB is, in reality, much much cheaper.

Oh, so you're suggesting that I take an unsummoned bob specifically to be filled with loot? That seems reasonable, but I definately wouldn't waste a turtle.

^ yeah that's what i was suggesting. I used to take a terrorbird and summon it in there, i filled it up first, then filled my invent. Makes most trips profitable. Without hurting their length too much, as banking is very quick.

I recently went there ranging with unicorn. As you can see I have very similar stats. The things is, I forgot what I brought :oops:

 

 

 

I *think* it was like 2 antifires, 4 pray pots, 1 super restore1 sara brew, 2 ranged pots, bit of monks, bit of pineapple pizzas, bit of tuna (for first kill so you have space).

 

Could have been 3 antifires too :o.
