Hey all i need a relatively moderately priced desktop ($1000-1500) range which brand and model do you guys reccomend.

 

 

 

 

 

I will use it to

 

play runescape

 

burn dvds

 

probably listen to music

 

i want a desktop that's quick even when i have like 7 programs open

 

 

 

 

 

Ive only had experience with dells so i don't know much about other brands

As for the OP's question, look for Vista Home Premium with 2GB RAM, a 2.4GHz+ processor, and I'm not really sure what kind of video card. That will probably be about £500, maybe less. I got a desktop slightly better (prebuilt though) that this about a year and a half ago for £700.

I guess something like this, you haven't included anything about gaming so i presume you don't plan on playing more advanced stuff than rs.

You could also go to your local computer shop and ask them to build you a custom desktop if you don't know how to build it yourself, for a pretty good deal.
