MMORTS: massively multiplayer online real-time-strategy.

so basically, command and conquer, in a MMO format.

 

i can't be the one who thinks that sounds extremely fun, right?

 

there's some problems though, currently hardware limitations are making it hard to actually make one without needing to use a US military network to play, and the issue of logging out is a problem.

 

 

 

anybody else interested? i'd love to have some massive boss fights, using all sorts of tanks and stuff, and maybe, eventually, take over the entire universe! :twisted:

 

also, another thing that comes up in the is RTS games in open space, with no "ground" that you have to build on, instead you can place structures wherever.

it sounds like it would be awsome, but i wouldn't play it at first, due to the likely massive amount of bugs.

There was a game advertised that claimed to be an MMORTS called worldshift and it seemed pretty fun, i may check it out at some point :D

I take it this is different to games like tribal wars and such?

 

 

 

It sounds good, but I can imagine it would have some flaws compared to normal rts.

I played Saga for a while. It was okay, but got a bit boring especially since you need real money to get anything done (I think).

 

So I didn't really get to the good stuff. Meh.
