SirHartlar
I have only played a few games of SC in the past, but I really enjoyed it. Currently I am aiming for 99 Strength at AZ, and I was wondering if any of the items would be a good thing to use there. Basically what I want to know is if the time taken to get an item is made up for by the bonus experience. Thanks! :)
JoeDaStudd
From what I've heard its about equal. The only time to use the SC gear seems to be if you have the armour spare after playing the game. ham100000001
Depends how many points you get per game. If you can get 25K+ points per game it it worth it to buy a bunch of hats to use.
SirHartlar
How long does a helm last? If it gives double experience and it lasts for twenty minutes, that makes the extra experience equal that of normal training without the time involved to get it right? Randox
How long does a helm last? If it gives double experience and it lasts for twenty minutes, that makes the extra experience equal that of normal training without the time involved to get it right? That actualy seems to be exactly what Jagex intended. More your average player doign average training, you get an item granting double experiance for the time it took to get it making it net nothing. Now, if you can get all 4components of the armour (and the weapon), then it will have a set complete bonus time that actualy lasts longer than the 80 minutes it took to get it. For higher leveled players, it should be possible to burn the items in less than 20 minutes, and for low levels it will take longer. I find clay items really help to banish the monotony of training though, since you spend half the time doing an awsome minigame and still get full xp. 1qazxcvbn
do it! im doing the same thing as you, and with occasional breaks to play stealing creation its a lot less boring plus, getting xp and lvls so much faster makes the actual training more fun too! it's almost addicting now. do it before its nerfed...(hopefully, it won't be) :ohnoes:
compfreak847
Simple mathmatics. Regular combat = 100k XP\hour = 200k XP\hour with SC armor. 200k XP\hour / 60k XP\hat = 3.33 hats\hour. Hat repair = 20 points = 66.6 points\hour. 3 games an hour = 22.2 points\game. 22 points\game = 26,000 points in a game, EASILY obtainable with tons of time left over for fun\fighting. If you wish for XP alone, 82,000 points in game = 25 points after is easily obtainable. Yes, it's worth it. RayOxide
Saying how many points you get in a run is kinda a load of crap. It can range from really low to really high. I got around 60k xp but i had to run a fair way to get to where I was going. :? I dont need a siggy no moar.

I got around 60k xp but i had to run a fair way to get to where I was going. :? It's not 'kind of crap'. It's pathetically easy to get 20k points doing almost nothing in a game, which will net you almost as many points as a 86k+ score, and you'll still have a ton of fun PKing for most of the game. RayOxide
20k points is... ... 1 - 3 points. Averagely not even 1/20th of any part I get average 70k Thats 5 points? And it is kinda crap. You dont know how many times you're going to die, what kind of clay resources will come out, or what level. I dont need a siggy no moar.
Bashful
i think you looked at the points wrongly.. its 1-20SC points for 1-20k (in-game).. with 1 SC point for every 1k points (in-game). erm, cant remember the rest, but you should be looking at 25 SC points (50k+ in-game), 26 is kinda hard, i think its 150k points in-game. i average about 80-100k a round, which is good enough for a recharge. even on bad rounds, i usually can reach the 50k mark. really fun and saves time too. =)

Here's the KB article: http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarticle.ws?article_id=836 As long as you get in the 20-25k point range - which takes the first 7-9 minutes of the game, when there are hardly any magers\fighters around, you will get 20-22 points, making it worth it time wise and allowing you to spend time having fun in SC rather then camping at Zombies. SirHartlar
I thought this topic had died! :P So I was trying this the other day, but I seem to have forgotten how to play properly... I had a ton of points but then my resources got swarmed by mages so I thought I'd pk for a while. Took some items from our base and went down to 900 points? Tactics anyone? For getting 24 points a game.
Bashful
hrm.. think you probably took runes? those thingy stack and if you took a huge bunch of 5000+ runes, then yea, thats alot of points gone. =X
Kellis
1) Don't take stuff from the base, you lose points. Major losses, no less. 2) Spend as much of the game as you can skilling, making arrows, runes, and other stackable stuff. Use the highest clay that you can EFFICIENTLY harvest. If you get 1 clay per minute, switch to a lower level. 3) Make yourself some mage robes to protect against pk-ers, and run back to your base with ~1 minute left. Deposit EVERYTHING, including tools and the robes you're wearing, then go out and punch people for the last 30 seconds or so.
ChaosFlames
Here's a tactic: Avoid me  Haha, seriously now. What Devil and others have said, you pretty much get 20-24 points once you hit 20-30k points ingame. With that being said, you could skill until you get the 30k, and then go PK'ing so it won't be so boring. Time spent playing sc for the rewards replaces the time saved using the sc items. So if you enjoy sc more than training, I'd say play it for an hour and then go train for an hour using the gear, instead of just training for 2 hours straight. gun_hippy
It's worth it for combat, for mage it isn't if you're training with multi attack stuff, or so i hear (it doubles CASTING xp not DAMAGE xp). So yes, it's worth it, and way more fun than sitting at _____ killing them all day.

Bashful
i think its kinda worth it for cannons too.. it lasts for the same XP even though cannons are supposed to give you 1/2 x XP... just go use it quick before they nerf it.

Range XP w/ chinchompas + avanseies = 160k an hour. Doubling range XP = 30k XP from 1 20 minutes game, roughly. So your getting 90k XP per hour from SC, but you can get 160k XP training range normally, almost DOUBLE. So your wasting a lot of time using the armor for cannon.
