[Answered] Yet another firecape question

Guthorm

Recommended Posts

Well after about six failed attempts at the fight cave, I guess is finally time to drop my stupid pride and start asking for some advice.

My stats are below, I failed 4 times at jad because of lag, the other 2 times is because I was bored watching my character shooting the lvl 360 and started browsing. I guess I browsed a bit too long.

I have read Muggi's guide on fight caves as well as other guides and videos. Most people seem to perfer the range approach, I wish to try that but all my attempts so far are with Guthan. Do you guys think I should switch to the range approach even thou I am not as experienced as I am with Guthan or should I stick with Guthan for now.

Oh I do own a sgs, but Muggi never mentioned what to sacrifice for the sgs, a restore pot or a brew. Also with the new tower shield, should I use it for the whole fight cave or should I keep in my invo and use a granite shield instead?

I do have about 3.5m to spend on pots and equipment if needed. I have most of the recommended items for fight caves except a dfs and armadyl platebody, but I can always get the plate from somebody 8-)

Thank you for reading my post, and for offering advice. ::'

PS: I really do like these similes.

Don't bring guthan's. Don't bring your sgs. Bring your best range gear, broad bolts, with 100 diamons (e)s for jad, 3 range pots (4), 9 brews (4) and the rest sup restores (4). You should be fine. With 80 def and range, 62 prayer, I got to jad with 2 full brews, 2 full sup restores, and full stats, and I was wearing black dhide.

I still have some trouble trapping the 180 behind the 360s, and that cost alot of brews for me.

And are you sure about the full range gear thing? the 90s would eat me alive.

There have been many questions on getting Firecape, some of them are as fresh as a day. We, especially me, are tired of typing the same advice over and over again, so just search them yourself.

Quick answer: Since obviously you should stick to Guthan, I will offer you the advice on that.

Guthan Full set, yes, everything

Fury ammy

Ava's Accumulator

Best ranged boot you can afford

Both Addy and diamond bolts, a lot of them.

Best crossbow you can afford, Karil or Rune

Best shield you can buy, Dragonfire or Elysian Spirit, Granite is also great

Black d'hide Full set.

1 Ranging potion, 4-5 Saradomin brews, and at least 10 Super restore potions

Use Guthans when fighting off waves of monsters, then switch to Black d'hide at Jad.

To kill Jad, you need 100% of concentration. Watch youtube about how players kill Jad. Oh yea, Jad can be poisoned.

My questions are not that repetitive are they?

Well to sum it up my questions really are:

Guthan or Range Style (Answered)

What to sacrifice for sgs, or even bring sgs at all. (Not answered)

Use the new tower shield for the whole fight? or use it when ranging 360s to save prayer and granite shield at other times.

Sorry if I annoyed you guys.

Different soup, but same medicine. Different question, but same problem.

SGS is not recommended, since you are risking higher chance of death when fighting hand-to-hand (Jad can hit up to 98 on melee).

By Tower Shield, do you mean the Falador Shield? The +7 prayer bonus is not really necessarily or helpful, especially if you know how to flash prayer. Its defense ratings are too risky to bring into the fight

And I only plan on using the sgs on the lvl 90s to heal a bit, certainly not fighting jad.

later on in the cave you will be attacked my many monsters at once, you wont have time to flash your prayer. the shield will help. and how is its def too riskyto bring? it would help against the level 90s

Since you have been polite, I am going to give you a very useful trick.

When fighting Yt-Meykot, make sure you have disposed of other monsters. Turn Protection from Melee on, and hit away with Halbred. Meykots heal each time they attack, even if they hit 0s, thus you can use it to heal yourself to full and then finish it off later.

I don't understand why people think changing their setup will help them if they can make it to Jad with their current setup :s

They don't want to take responsibility for their failure.

Pretty simple, I am a cheap bastard. I usually make to Jad with 2 brews and 2 restores left

And I want to save as much as possible.
