Just got my first ever nechrael (sp) task, but have no idea how to go about fighting them. What def do i need (melee, range, mage), do i need any special items, will a bunyip be enough to keep me safe on the task (94 def).

Wear standard melee equipment, yes, bunyip will be fine at 94 def.

Ignore the death spawns, or run about 10-12+ tiles away from them and they'll lose interest. The best place to kill them is in the Chaos Tunnels (you can't really run from them), they're a lot closer together and the task goes by quicker.

All in all a pretty easy task with decent charms and some profit.

Yes its the last audience level reward from circus.

Ty, will the spawns do much damage if i just forget about them? Will they disaapear after i kill the Nech too, don't really want a stack of 100 spawns on me.

u need melee armor, and a bunyip probably wont be enough since they tend to hit hard. u wont need anything special to fight them, they summon death spawns which hits with mage, but they hardly ever hit even if u wear melee armor. so bunyip and food and slay away ::'

they wont disappear when u kill the nech, but they wont follow u too far if u want to get rid of them, but they do disappear after a while.

A bunyip will not be enough. At 99 Def and 230+ Def, I still need food. So either bring some food too, or get a Unicorn. ::'

Bring Darklight to weaken them, since Nechryaels are demon type. I recommend to melee them with Guthan set.

Watch out for Nechryael's summon, two lvl 46 Death Spawns, just keep moving around until the Spawn lose interest in you or corning it behind Nechryael (good old Monster Meat Shield technique). Note that the Spawn can hit through Protection From Melee prayer.

Nechryaels can hit up to 11 and are weak to Slash type attacks. You dont need any speical items to kill, but they are not worth the hassle if it is not for their Rune Boot drop.

No. Darklight may reduce the att, str, and def of demons by 10%, but that special is better off spent with a DDS Spec. DDS Specs=More than likely kill the nech. Darklight Spec=Weaken it. DDS owns Darklight in every way. And Nechs aren't classified as demons as far as I know. Darklight's only been proven to work on monsters with the word Demon if their name.

I see...it has been awhile since I used Darklight.

Still, I recommend Guthan set for its special and def rating, very useful if you ever ganged by Nechyrael and its Spawns.

One more thing, you can safe them behind the one of the chair with Halberd in Slayer Tower.

Idk what everyone else is talking about when they say they dont need food, Im only 85 defense, and I get along fine with regular armor and a bunyip. Ill bring about 4 monks, but that is enough to last me for one whole bunyip. Just wear regular armor and whip them away. Each one will summon one spawn, and it wont dissapear right when you kill the nech, a little bit later, but dont kill them or anything, just leave them alone. Also, only kill them in the chaos tunnels.

I'll agree with Guthans. Not needed but nice to have. :)

But I'd advise against killing them in the Slayer Tower. Killing in the Chaos Tunnels is faster, as they're much closer together and less crowded.

At your defense, you might not need food, but just in case:

Standard melee slayer armor and weapon.

Use a DFS if you have it. They're one of the only tasks where a DFS is better than a Rune Def.

Bring a few pineapple pizzas. Maybe four.

IGNORE DEATH SPAWNS. They hit a max of two, and rarely. They'll cause you a little bit of damage, but not enough to run away. Just keep wacking Nechs.

Use a Bunyip, or if you can, a unicorn. If you can use a good combat familiar, bring guthan's and that familiar instead of healing familiars. I would only recommend this if you have 79+ Summoning. Unless you're going to use Piety, but that's another story.

Kill in Chaos Tunnels.

I think that's about it. Slay on.

i have no idea

but what is the hand thing in your sig next to penance gloves

which minigame is that from

This should be asked in a PM.

---

On my first Nech task I took my Bandos pl8, d skirt, whip+def.. all that good stuff. To heal I used guthans (worked rather well) The death spawns arn't worth killing, don't bother with them.

I killed them in the Chaos Tunnels and it was a rather successful task.

Apparently, my signature was to big.

I would definitely agree with you. Having a Saradomin Godsword would allow one to use a Rune Defender. However, in this case...

I believe Inashuakent recommends Guthan's with a combat familiar for them. He's written an amazing slayer guide, so I would trust him.

Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:
