Addy Arrowtips are somewhere around the 2.5-3gp/xp mark with addy.

And addy plates are the best at 88 imo.

Use sacred clay hammer if you can be bothered getting :P

Mith bolts or cannon balls \'

Hahaha, I just looked up cannoballs and I think I might do that... But I heard its mind numbing >.< but you do make profit. Is it 4 Cannonballs per 1 Steel bar? And on the Tip it Skill Calculator for Smithing/Smelting, what does the Steel + 4 Cannonballs mean? There's one that just says 4 Cannonballs but it's less exp..

Imma look up the ratios on the Mith bolts.

Thanks! \'

It's 4 balls per 1 bar and the Steel+4 C balls means you make the steal bar then make it into cannon balls. Which is not worth it XP wise. They are 12.5K xp/hr so yes it's kind of boring but you can post on forums or watch videos. All you do is stay logged on.

Consider the blast furnace.

Either mithril bolts or alch mithril bolts. Probably a far better alternative than cannonballs in my view.

do you mean alch all the bolts he makes? hes going to have to make more than 100k probably, not sure exactly

I mean alch plates, typo there. The bolts is best to be fletched and sold, very easy fletching xp if you can stand the old fashion fletching.

^and Kellis said I spammed :|

Anyway, cannonballs seriously aren't worth the time anymore, the profit is minimal and for the time it takes to make them you could get over 9000x more xp at the blast furnace with mith bars -> mith bolts with SC hammers. :-#

I dont need a siggy no moar.

Didn't the OP request some degree of cost:XP ratio?

If not, may I propose my own request please. I'd quite fancy 99 Smithing too, and not to deviate off the OP - but it seems to me that even the glorified Mith Bolts method incurs a loss of 400gp+ per Mithril Bar used.

Surely, that type of loss is not being simply ignored.. :? ?

Could anyone here, perhaps Master_Smither, provide a cost-effective method (besides Cannonballs & the Blast Furnace) which one could use to obtain 99 Smithing? I do not mind high-XP rates per hour; just a 'cheap' method to obtain 99.

Thanks :P

RSW (Master Smither) tells people to do steel plates :P

Now, with mith bolts, they're apparently the best thing you can make without smelting your own bars in amount of loss. Yeah, smithing this way is very expensive. But, If you have 60 smithing, and head over to the blast furnace, you can smelt your own mithril bars with only 2 coal (instead of the original 4), cutting the price into 3/5ths of normal, then, smithing the bar into bolts gathers money, and this is rather quick xp in the Blast Furnace world.

But, a cost effective method besides the blast furnace and cannonballs, even though cannonballs are completely CRAP now..

Normal smelting; slow, but not as slow as cannonballs, and quite decent money with mith / steel too. There is currently no way you make money by buying a bar and smithing it into ANYTHING until level 99 yet.

I dont need a siggy no moar.
