Wireless G vs. N

Well I'm buying this laptop because it has pretty much everything I need for a great price.

The only thing is it uses wireless G instead of wireless N. My question is how much better is wireless N than G?

Because I'm debating whether to get a Wireless N card for the laptop and a Wireless N router instead of G but it would cost more.

Also would this laptop run RS HD fairly well?

Any help would be great. ::'

I bought a laptop similiar to that for 599.99 from futureshop.

2.0 GHz instead of your 1.9 GHZ

3gb of ram instead of your 2 GB

250 gb of harddrive space instead of your 160GB

Same graphics card (Nvidia Geforce 8200M)

I'll run RuneScape HD at the highest setting, with about 40FPS so no worries there. Although I do suggest you wait and see what other laptops you can get, because I bought mine half a year ago and it had better specs then your.

^ Mhm, well I might purchase another 2GB of RAM if I find it too slow but the harddrive is a perfect size for me as I haven't even used 40GB of the computer I'm currently using. I might wait another month or so and see what comes up though.

Anyone know the difference between wireless G and N?

Well I brought that laptop and I am very happy with its performance. It's fast and runs RSHD extremely well with all settings. I ended up getting an N-Router even though my laptop used a G Internet connection. The internet I get is still super fast and the router was works great. I might end up buying some extra RAM which would be nice.

Thanks for all the help by the way.

Isn't N still in draft state? Or do i remember wrong...

Wireless N has not been released yet, the "Wireless N" equipment released today is in fact false advertising.

My laptop has "Wireless N" ability but whether or not it will be compatible with the final specifications waits to be seen. I would avoid investing any significant amount of money into it, until the standard is officially released.
