The brushing, which is pretty obvious, looks slapped on, same with the tree and silhouette(s). Jopie211 Posted January 5, 2009 Share Posted January 5, 2009 Stolen idea from my Art Bazhaar topic? :P TBH the whole concept of silhouettes against a coloured background and some other effects added to it is really, really old and has been done so many times before. --- The version without the leaves isn't at all that bad (apart from the text and strange white outline around the people), but I've just never liked the whole silhouette style. IMO it's really overused and just terribly unoriginal. Sure, the reason why that style is so popular is because it does kind of work, but I'm just so tired of seeing stuff like this. Anyways, I said that since it seems quite weird in the bottom right as it doesn't match very well with the rest of the ground under close scrutiny. Try to smudge it a bit, since if you look closely, the black blotches form a "v" in the less darker area on the left of the tree, and I think its quite noticable. I think smudging it a bit would make it look better overall, instead of looking like block shading, which I think irks me the most.
