Getting kicked via punkbuster in call of duty

I am getting kicked while play "call of duty United Offensive". Everytime i got to a server with punkbuster i get kicked within 3 mins. I am not cheating either or doing any type of it.

call of duty the latest version

 

 

 

amd athlon 3200+

 

 

 

512mb ram

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Any ideas on how to fix or what the problem is? I have to play on a non punkbuster server for now with the cheating scum :cry: .

EDIT: played for about 2 seconds and ehre's one of the messages I'm getting. I got a couple different one's but can't remember what they said.

Um, how do you do that? I have allow downloads in call of duty game. Shouldn't it update then?

The first screen says "PB Initation Failure", and the second says there are couple ports that are blocked. Looks like your getting kicked because punkbuster can't connect with your system, probably because of a firewall or router.. Try looking into that.

i have my firewall turned off when i play multiplayer games. Microsoft firewall is also off.

When i click download on the files all i get is a bunch of code i have no clue what to do with. I am not to good with code, scripts and stuff either.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Oh i forgot i have never been kicked for punkbuster in doom3. Or is punkbuster a different version for every game?

At that location, the subdirectory called "pb" is the home "pb" directory. NOTE: If you have very old version of PunkBuster for Quake3-engine games, the "pb_homepath" command will not work. I've never played any of the games you've said this anti-cheat program uses thus not using the actual program... But reading goes a long way, I just skimmed over the support page and it looks like you need this PBWeb program. :?

Ok i have tried that. That fixed the update issue.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I have one more though. I am getting kicked of blocked OS privleges (see above picture in first post). I read up on this and it says i need to be the Admin or have admin rights. Which I am the admin and still kicks me off.

Please temporarily disable other security type programs you have running such as anti-virus, process guard, SDProtector, etc. to find out which of them is blocking PB's access to resources on your computer. You either need to run PB without the blocking program(s) or play on non-PB servers. Also make sure you run the game under an Administrator or equivalent account under Windows. If you do have access an admin account, you can right click on the application you want to run and select "Run As". Download and run this file from any location, it will check for adware that stops you from being able to play on PB servers. The VX2 adware edits your user rights when it infects your computer, and many programs do not repair this when they remove it.

Click the "Find VX2.betterinternet info" button to make sure that you don't have this adware. If there are no files listed, go on to the last step. If you find the adware files, (it is usually 3 random named dll files) Select all the files found.

The only thing i can see is theres a program thats doing it. Which i have tried disabling microsoft anti spyware, mcafee, every type of thing and still kicks me.

So you got it working? Topic is a few days old but better late than never. For others who might need other ideas...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Call of Duty UO player myself, never had such a thing happen for me, although PB does kick me sometimes for stupid reasons. If i were you i'd try 2 things:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1. Update your PB by using PBWEB via this link: ( http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=updatepb.php ) Scroll down and click the appropriate download. Run that and let it do its thing.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Download the appropriate PBWEB for your operating system from the links provided below. Be sure to save into the home "pb" directory on your hard drive and then launch PBWEB.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

pb folder is in your CoD folder (you prob. already knew that.)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. Make sure you are on a computer that is logged in through Admin. Like for Windows XP, make sure you are the admin and not just a secondary user for that computer.
