i see theres a prayer for 43 prayer that says protection from melee.

 

im wondering how it works?

 

is it 100% protection?

 

does it work against other players like in pvp worlds?

 

how long does it last? untill your prayer runs out?

 

how much hits can u get in untill it runs out?

100% against monsters.

 

50% against other players.

 

 

 

Other questions depend on your stats and bonuses.

You click on the prayer to activate, click again to turn off. It lasts until your prayer points gets to 0. It's 100% protection from melee monsters, 50% from other players. How many hits you get in depends on stats/bonus

Might I also add, you can lower the drain rate of your prayer by getting more prayer bonuses. Items like Monk Robes, Explorer's Ring, and many more armor give prayer bonuses.

if you got stats like 60 att 1 def 80str and 43 prayer.

 

would that be viable for pvp on free world?

or would 40 def be a better choice then 43 prayer*

using protection prayers is generally frowned upon in pvp, so no one would want to fight you, so 40 def> 43 prayer (unless you plan on using a prayer your opponent can't see).

Note, some monsters can hit through prayer but 99% of them can't, even the toughest ones.

Hmm I was tolded its 30% vs. players, i always thought it was 50% though.

It protects 40% against players btw, not 50%.
