Fire spells weak at fire monsters? - NEW QUESTION

Featured Replies

[hide=old question]I've been getting bored of whipping the greater deamons in brimhaven, so i thought on this task i'd 50% mage them and 50% range them.

Not sure whether this is a myth or not, but in this situation what would be more effective?

Water wave or fire wave?

Ta[/hide]

I know ice/water monsters are vulnerable to fire spells

Are fire monsters more resistant to fire spells?

Likewise are water/ice monsters more resistant to water spells? etc...

Speedy replies appreciated ::'

I know ice/water monsters are vulnerable to fire spells, but are fire monsters invulnerable to fire spells?

aren't you confusing this game with pokemon? magic resistance = magic resistance, the element of the spell doesn't matter in that part. Since fire spells require a higher mage lvl and hit harder then water spells, go with fire spells. :P

There are three sides to every story: There's one side, there's the other, and there's the truth.

What made you think Greaters are Fire monsters?

And don't double post, people know how to scroll down the page; just use the edit button.

1. Internet is a little messed up, clicking on some links just gives me a 404 page error - I would usually edit page - don't worry ;)

2. Maybe they're not fire monsters, but they seem more "firey" than most monsters. Even if they are not, i'd like an answer for furture reference.

If you read my second post you might see the logic behind my question

I've never played pokemon - and it's for 7 year olds... right?

However if you read my second post you might see the logic behind my question

Pokemon is for ages 6-106 (im to young DAMMIT)

Greators dont have any weakness to water to answer your 1st question.

:o H-how could you?!

Well, I seriously don't get where you thought greater demons were fire related... Why, because they're red? That's really flawed logic.

^I would think it's because of word association.

Demon=Hell

Hell=Fire

But I'm pretty sure they're not weak to water or strong against fire.

Are bloodvelds resistant to wave attacks? They do have blood in their name, after all.

"Blood" has barely any relation to "Fire" at all. Not like "Demon" does.

On a somewhat unrelated note, I think they are a bit resistant to wave attacks as they attack with Magic-based melee attacks. And magic attack=magic def. ;)

Fire monsters aren't invunerable to fire spells. They might have higher defence against it, but I'm sure they aren't invunerable.

err... me?

To the op: If ice/water monsters are vulnerable to fire spells (Ice>Fire btw) why would fire monsters be resistant to fire spells?

Okay i phrased the question wrong.

Replace "invulnerable" with more resistant

johannase.jpg

Thank you to tripsis for an awesome sig!

The OP found one case of specific resistance. I can't really answer teh question, but I can cite a few more examples of magic immunity/resistance to certain magic attacks.

The 4 wizards around necromangus are not only immune to their chosen element, they absorb it and heal from it.

The boss of contact is virtualy immune to air, water and fire spells. The boss is exceptionaly weak (easy to hit) with earth, iban blast, and slayer dart (not 100% sure on teh last one, but I killed the boss with 12 iban blasts).

The bosses in DT are all vulnerable to one type of magic.

The Daganoth Queen (I think) is vulnerable to only one attack style (or one magic element) at any given time, as is her RFD counter part.

It is possible that a fire creature you be immune to say water, but I don't know.

From what I listed, you would think that most things that have a magic weakness also have magic resistance to something else. I don' know if that is the case for you or not. I do know that greater demons (or demons in general) are all overly vulnerable to magic, so use fire wave not water wave.

Ok, I did sort of answer.

This question has too much logic involed.

If you try to use logic on Runescape and Jagex, you'll fail. Miserably. So don't even try...

I'm pretty sure MOST monsters don't have immunities or vulnerabilities.
