Personally I believe that the newly uncensored curse words are a hint that Sailing is coming.

"Curse like a sailor."

Jagex dosen't really care all that much about under age players. All they see is $5 a month.

And the RS community is no more mature than it was a few months ago.

That's the attitude I'm talking about, I believe that underage players will be forced to quit by their parents...

I don't know about your environment, but I doubt anyone of the parents I know, who have kids of 8+, know much about what their children do online. Especially in the cursing/swearing department. Even the most pro-technology parents seem to be pretty ignorant/

When everything's been said and done, more has been said than done.

i personally disagree completely with this statement from serephurus

....cursing in the game is not related AT ALL to new skills and things in the future ...i think that when Jagex staff decided to change the chat filter no one had "sailing" in mind while they were changing it...

How are we defining underage? 13 and under?

Underage (according to Jagex) is under 13.

I think they adjusted the censor because:

1) these words are pretty common, in most people (even some 7 year olds say some of these things)

2) It makes their image older.

3) Most members are more serious and mature than f2p'ers, so they can handle it

4) To tell everyone that they are never ever going to remove free-chat =P

I had something else to say, but I forgot #-o

I'll tell you if I remember.
