Champz
Everyone has that one thing that, in their mind, is the make or break for any clan. So what is it? What exactly makes a clan tick. What makes it run and what attracts people to the clan and want to stay? In short -- what is the one thing that a clan needs to be successful. My thoughts: Action. Sure talking about an idea is great, but its just that; talking. Implementation of new ideas and views is pertinent for any clan to be successful. Simply sitting around and talking about how doing this or doing that will improve the standing here and fix the problem does nothing. I experienced this first hand in KO. There came a point in time where all people did was talk -- not act. Not only did this annoy me, but it drove me, gave me that hypothetical "push" that I needed to act. Since that time, not only have I continued to think of ways to change and improve the clan, but I did everything I could to implement them. You might have the greatest idea in the world, but its just that if nothing happens; an idea. Only upon acting can it become the greatest plan ever. obfuscator
I agree. A clan that won't take action is doomed to failure. "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti
Dbzruler72
Willingness to change with the times. Staying old school is a path to disaster. No one spams "_ on _" nowadays because it takes too long, and hybriding during wars is a must. Back then, there were many blasters. Now clans have replaced them with snipers. *-P.K.M-* Website

Dbzruler72
Dang, got me there. In my defence, ProBoards has scrapped that old, premade stuff and built their own. Also, PB 5 is coming out, which is an overhaul. *-P.K.M-* Website

Laikrob
In TSG there are no mandatory events/trips, instead the community encourages people to participate in various ways. This makes the atmosphere a lot friendlier, and you don't have to feel guilty for putting real life first sometimes or taking a break from the game. For us, that has been the key to success. Also, sharing the knowledge has been a big thing. A few of the guides on Tip.It actually comes partly or fully from our forums, and we have a few members who are very good at crunching numbers, whether it's training or monster hunting. We even had someone thoroughly proving that Ranging level AND Ranging bonus affects cannoning accuracy. Most didn't know that. ;) You're accusing me of bigotry, how ironic. It's a nice attempt at argument, but your responses are facile and asinine, if not diatribe. Who's arrogant now?
Nobody
Community, Lordy made a very informative post about it though I can't share. With love to one, friendship to many, and good will to all.
ValaraZ
Adaptation to changes and community. And of course in our case legacy. :P Oldest clan in RS that has stayed active the whole time baby! Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant: "If I live, I will kill you, If I Die, you are forgiven." Such is the Rule of Honor.
Sanctus_Petrus
what is the one thing that a clan needs to be successful. Well, you can use an iron fist and good old fashion brutality.... Or, you can try finding charismatic leader like me :P
