Mr_Adam
When I downloaded a CD I bought onto iTunes, the songs are choppy, sounding sort of like they're going over a speed bump. This isn't for every CD, because most of my library is composed of my Dad's CDs. Can I possibly make the sound more connected, like on the CD? Two of the choppy CDs are Born to Run (Bruce Springsteen) and A Change of Seasons (Dream Theater).
sloter
Sounds like a bad download. I don't know much about iTunes i have never personally used it. Can you redownload the song with out them charging you? If so i would try redownloading it.
Mr_Adam
It's from a physical CD, that I first opened to upload to iTunes. I wonder if I can re-download purchased things from iTunes though... because I do have some things that could be re-downloaded...
Skill_Caster
The only problems I can think of right now are maybe that some of your CDs might be scratched, or there's something wrong with your CD drive. Try ripping (downloading) the CDs into another media player, such as Windows Media Player and compare the results. I also Googled around a bit and came up with this. Apparently, you're not alone with the issues. The guy in this thread says that Apple recommends you delete your entire iTunes Library (make sure you click "Keep File", not "Move to Recycle Bin") and then reimport all the songs back into your library from the iTunes Library folder located in your My Music folder. I'll try that, I know for a fact that the CDs aren't scratched, unless the CD drive has a problem. I also Googled around a bit and came up with this. Apparently, you're not alone with the issues. On First read, I assumed you meant to delete every single some from library, then reimporting (I have almost a thousand songs), which would probably take a while... After I read the thread though, it seems like I only need to reimport the problematic songs, so I may try this... tomorrow. :P (It's sorta late now)
stevepole
I remember I had that kind of problem a long time ago when I ripped CDs to my computer into itunes, but I can't remember what the problem was thought. Try ripping into Windows Media Player or another program then open the songs up in itunes like Skill Caster said.
thrash-boy
dont have any experience ripping with itunes, but ive done it with media player many times with no problems. its VERY unlikely it due to scratched cds, because they would fail to read all together. its also unlikely its a faulty drive (if you have ripped most cds successfully), but who knows. make sure your ripping at a bitrate of 320kbs (cd quality), and if there is an option turn the speed down to 12 or even 8x. dont try and rip at 52x. if that still doesnt work update the drive firmware
dsavi
iTunes -> Edit -> Prefrences -> "General" tab -> Import settings button a little more than halfway down -> Import using WAV encoder, Setting from automatic to custom, sample rate to max, sample size to max, channels to auto, press ok then check the "Use error correction when reading audio CDs". Press ok, try ripping a CD again. There will be a difference in quality.

dsavi
Keep in mind though that you could be using up to 600 mb of space on your hard drive for just one CD. I would suggest changing it from there to 320kbps MP3, what I posted was a guess as an attempt to take a stab at it by setting it to the highest quality available.
