aspeeder Posted January 22, 2009 Share Posted January 22, 2009 Recently I took on the goal of 70 pray :pray: (It's gonna be a looooooong haul :cry: ) and I read on the rs forums that killing vampires for vampire dust was a great way of making money. Would bandos chest, d legs and boots, neitznot helm, holy symbol, whip and rune def be a good setup? Also, how much food will I need and are there any special reqs for killing vampires I don't know about? I don't know you do the math... Trust me, I've done enough dragon slaying, green and blue, to last me a lifetime. Aslan Posted January 22, 2009 Share Posted January 22, 2009 Keep going with dragons but you should bank both of the drops(bones,leather) and sell the leather after you're done to buy more bones.I'm not familiar to the prices atm, but you should be able to buy a d bone for the price of a leather,which halves the effort.I killed my own dragons(blue) for 70 pray and it was worth it.Made me feel better when I realised who killed them. : Refering to barrows.I'm currently on 50 dry chests,although I usually make~40k/chest due to runes.Keep trying. Use the leftover money to get a Torag chest and Torag legs (much better in every situation than Bandos) and do slayer.. OR Go kill aviansies (200k gp/hour, rough estimate for your levels) or greens again (this time selling the bones and hides for 300k+ gp/hour, rough estimate for your levels) This is what I would do, but hey what do I know.. I am currently going for 99 prayer and burned 60m on bones.. Id say I have a rough idea :-s -------------- Here are some numbers just for you to wrap your mind around what I am saying. (prices as of Friday, January 23, 2009.. 3:58 AM) Bandos Chest - 12.4m Cost for 70 prayer - 3,420,153 gp (assuming you use on a Gilded Alter, both burners lit) Money left - 8,979,847 gp ----------- There you have it.. now you just have to make back 3.4m with dragons or aviansies. Which will be easier since you now can use piety. (at least on dragons) Bandos Chest is outdone in nearly every situation by barrows armor. If not barrows then the prayer boost of Proselyte. If you do not need the defence or prayer boost then 8 times out of 10, I believe, Void melee will be more efficient to use. Yes I have owned a Bandos Chest and yes it does look nice, but when I was slaying I would mainly use my guthans chest and skirt anyway. (sometimes a bunny isn't enough) Maybe I am wrong though. Bandos has the highest range dxefense in the game so it is best for soloing, which he obviously won't be doing at his level, but just making a point. Void melee is almost NEVER efficient to use anywhere when you are taking damage. The defense drop from barrows to bandos is no where near as significant as the drop from bandos to void. I personally use bandos top/bottom on every normal melee task and never have to bank(except to stash bones from wyverns). However, I have a sgs and ponies to make up the difference...
