changing ips to click for a flag?

You cant really "change" your ip adress, you can run it through a blocker but that wont effect game speed.

 

 

 

 

 

Erm... I don't know if this is unusual, but all I have to do is powercycle my router (unplug it, let it sit, and plug it back in) and I get a shiny, brand new IP. Never fails :

 

How do you get your connection? There should be a modem connected to your router connected to your computer. Restart your router and your computer gets a new IP on your personal network, but your modem (and public) IP address should still be same until your ISP decides to give you a new one from their bloc.

Again, your gear is pathetically horrible and inefficient, not to be mean, it just irritates me when people boast inefficiently. Similar to people who use unicorns at abby demons(not ranging/in void). Meleeing in anti-melee gear is counter productive and stupid. if you only bought arma to show off at c wars, sell it and get bandos.

 

I am pretty sure he mentioned that because it has a very high mage defence, and considering he is talking about the flag, he wants the mage defence to be safe.

 

 

 

 

 

Like I said before, if you want mage defense while meleeing, use karils. Arma is only 10 more mage defense than karils, and if he wants defense, a dfs would make up that lost 10 defense while boosting melee by a bit, using a whip of course.

Isn't he capturing the flag? So he is running not meleeing?

 

 

 

Which makes the zgs irrelevant, does it not? I honestly don't play castle wars that much, but expecting to be in control of the flag at all times with no need to attack would rule out scoring and if he just runs around with the enemy flag after aquiring it his team will never score, which I doubt that they would like. I've ehard the "flag holding" technique mentioend before, but again, assumign that you'll be in control of the flag at ALL times with no need t attack seems a bit presumptious.

 

 

 

When capturing the flag, zgs is your best friend and a lot of people use armadyl because often when you are trying to recover the flag, there is a mage spam barraging.

 

 

 

But I just want to vouch for Danqazmlp that he isnt making this up and there are actually a pretty significant amount of people that believe this to be true. I have played castle wars a lot and I can tell you that this belief is widely thought to be true by some of the better castle wars players.

It aint all fun and games, but computers tend to take a while to do things. Not to say I haven't had some fun times trying to piece together the MBR of a mission critical computer :?

Can't argue with you there, but when you consider the demographic (average age? ~13ish?) and average intelligence, the 'majority vote' here means nothing. These are the people that comment on youtube.

Ah, so you have a modem and a router combined. It's surprising that you get a new IP; who's your ISP? It's usually static, or dynamic at their will.

I use torag's plate and verac's skirt when i use zgs so i don't splash. I bought arma to stop getting frozen in tight spots of the game. dragon spear works as a good counter to those people with good click times, push them out of the way.

 

 

 

 

 

I tried dc'ing the cable and plugging it back in but it won't work. I've gone through the command prompt and played with ipconfig commands. I've tweaked the options on the IPv4 protocol to give me a new ip but my internet won't work if i give it a super castlewars ip.

 

 

 

screw this, i'm just gonna own whoever picks up that flag :twisted: .

You get whatever you IP assigns you, when they decide to change it (which isn't that often). For the most part, you can only change your local IP.

IPconfig will tell you what the private IP address your router gave you will tell (which will change). Somewhere like http://whatismyip.com can tell you what your public IP is. A few ISPs may change it (Haven't specifically tested SBC) with a powercycle, but it should still be from your local bloc - that's why services can tell you your location to a pretty precise address; each ISP bloc has its own IP allocations.

I really think this whole conversation is over. IP's obviously have nothing to do with this. Something like that would make the game unfair, and is a pointless addition to Runescape (there's no technical benefit).

But yeah, it's obvious that it has nothing to do with it. A proxy would make for huge lag and disconnection [bleep]es (not to mention banning), and a satellite connection (with its 600ms+ ping time) would be even worse.
